It’s the season of living alone — whether moving into a new apartment in a city with your first big girl paycheck, or like me, going off to college. Cleaning your new space and making it a home requires spending time on chores. My greatest dislike was laundry day, due to the massive containers of detergent that would leak and bleach that would make my eyes water and somehow mix in with my colors. It was a constant battle until I realized this was due to using low-quality products that rendered doing laundry as difficult. Here’s my experience putting them to the test:
I like my clothes to be scented, but always struggled with them being overly scented with traditional detergent. These tiny pods come in cardboard packaging, which is ideal when I have my hands preoccupied with hampers filled with laundry. Speaking of funk to freshen my clothe sof all colors… I pop in an Oxi Booster pod, which is a healthier alternative to traditional bleach. These pods easily brighten and whiten my precious clothes.
The final stage of drying can make or break the end result. Dryer sheets are often too much for my nose, so I’ve been experimenting with the XL Wool Dryer Balls. I add a few drops of essential oils onto the wool balls before adding them to the dyer, and an hour later, I’m basking in warm laundry without the use of harsh chemicals.
