Kulfi’s Khili Khili Glow Mist Blends Skin Care & Makeup

One of the hottest beauty trends in the last few years has been the incorporation of proven skin care ingredients into makeup. While the SPF, Vitamin C, and niacinamide found in foundation can’t replace a sound skin care regime, moisture-rich, hydration is a different game. Keeping the skin hydrated and makeup from looking cakey is a pillar of radiant looks. Celebrated for the addition of nourishing oils and soothing botanicals to its award-winning lip and eye cosmetics, Kulfi, named after an Indian street food indulgence, has upped the ante in the quest to stay radiant and vibrant with the newly launched Kulfi’s Khili Khili Glow Mist.

Named after a household compliment uttered by South Asian aunties, Kulfi’s Khili Khili Glow Mist delivers non-stop hydration, moisture, and luminosity. Per my Q&A with the Kulfi Founder and CEO Priyanka Ganjoo, the brand’s mission, in addition to beautifying a full range of skin tones with vibrant makeup, is to allow for the type of fun self-expression that comes from glimmering shadows and highlighters.

“I think of makeup and beauty as a way to express ourselves and shape our narrative and own how we want to present ourselves to the world.”

Priyanka Ganjoo, Kulfi Beauty Founder & CEO

The Glow Mist’s bi-phase water and oil-based formulation multitasks pre, during, and post makeup application. After a vigorous shake, the water phase imparts hydration that preps skin for makeup, then melts into the skin to set and diminish cakiness, while squalene and glycerin deliver a radiant finish that brings luminosity from start-to-finish on-the-go and even during afternoon touch-ups. Just shake, spritz and repeat for that all-day glow.

Not bland at all. Gesha-Marie Bland is an essayist, Vanity Fair-published film and television writer, and unrepentant beauty junkie who jumpstarted her career at NYU’s Master’s Program in Cinema Studies. In homage to her beauty icons Jeanne Moreau, Dolly Parton, and Grace Jones, she is forever in search of the perfect cat-eye liner, a killer pair of heels, and unforgettable statement accessories. Currently NYC-based, this dual American-French citizen still wears all-black and has a soft spot for clean beauty, pharmaceutical-grade actives, and most ingredients sourced from vineyards in the south of France. She loves New Wave cinema, Mary Gaitskill’s fiction, Spain, and matcha double-shots. After selling "The Ripper," her Alexander McQueen-Issie Blow biopic to the Cannes-winning production company Maven Pictures, she remains convinced fashion and couture are the next frontiers for edgy cinematic stories.
