I’ve been wanting to buy a good pair of rain boots for some time. Living in Saskatchewan (Canadian Prairies) means the weather is unpredictable. It can be super sunny and then all of a sudden rain clouds, thunderstorms, and high winds (they don’t call it ‘Land of Living Skies’ for nothing). Part of my hesitation though, is the fact that many rainboots are stiff and uncomfortable to walk in. Given I have broken both of my feet, the comfort of everyday use is key for me.
Enter Muckproof: Rainscape Collection. I had not previously heard of this company before and decided to give them a shot. During the unboxing, I was happy to see that the boots were very constructed from flexible material (phew!). Upon trying them on, I was surprised. Not stiff, not uncomfortable, rather they actually felt GOOD. The insoles were soft and cushioned, the exact opposite I am used to. After walking in my yard, I could already tell the difference in how supported my feet felt and knew I had chosen correctly. One thing I will mention: like many rubber boots, they did initially have a strong smell when unpackaged. To combat this I simply put them outdoors for a bit and the smell lessened. Problem solved.
Muckproof’s Rainscape Collection comes in 3 height options: ‘Chelsea, 8 inch, and 12 inch) and are available in a variety of beautiful, muted colours (like Desert Sage and Woodrose). Furthermore, they are 100% waterproof with an adjustable back, making the perfect fit easier to attain. I can say that overall I am happy with my choice. The only thing I would do differently next time is buy several – I have my eye on the Chelsea style. And try a cool colour next time (Periwinkle perhaps?). Good thing Spring has only just started… I have lots of time!
