Lion Pose wants to bring more people into the chat about skincare. This new brand aims to transform skincare and advocate for more inclusive clinical studies. Lion Pose’s mission is rooted in advocacy. Brand founders Madhu Punjabi and Nisha Phatak became frustrated when they noticed diverse skin tones, textures, and types are not included in all clinical studies. Madhu and Nisha, who are BIPOC Silicon Valley alums and Harvard MBA graduates, have experienced dark spots and scarring in the past. However, they saw a lack of products that addressed these issues safely and effectively for people of color.
Seeking a more effective, inclusive approach to skincare, Madhu and Nisha teamed up with dermatologists Dr. Laura Scott and Dr. Tia Paul. Dr. Scott and Dr. Paul are Harvard-educated experts in dermatology. They share Madhu and Nisha’s belief that clinical skincare studies need more diverse representation. Dr. Scott and Dr. Paul use their expertise in dermatology to formulate safe products that are inclusive of all skin types and tones. Their formulations target common skin issues like hyperpigmentation, melasma, acne, and eczema.
Mindy Kaling joined the Lion Pose team as an investor and brand ambassador. Like the rest of the Lion Pose team, she is advocating for more representation in clinical studies and high-quality products designed to meet the needs of people of color.
Lion Pose’s first product launched this week exclusively at Sephora. UNSPOTTED 4X Acid Jelly Night Serum targets hyperpigmentation.
