Planning The Big Chop? Products To Use For Styling Your Chic Cut

New Year? New you! By the time the end of the year comes around and everything starts feeling a little stagnant, there’s no better time for a refresh than entering the New Year. This is for the peeps that are finally ready to pull the trigger on a new look with the ever-trendy, effortless bob that we saw make a comeback in 2023. Hailey Bieber, Emma Stone, Meredith Duxbury, and Mindy Kaling all took part in the 2023 chic bob resurgence. Being an easy to maintain hairstyle, this cut is predicted to keep trending throughout 2024. The 2024 chic bob will likely also feature face-framing layers or wispy shag elements, of which we saw was highly popular in longer hair styles of 2023. The key to feeling confident in shorter hair is to know how to style it for you! I’ve been using NAK Hair and Daimon Barber products to keep my freshly-cut bob looking healthy and voluminous.

NAK Hair products first launched in Australia 20 years ago. Now making its debut in North America, NAK Hair’s three individual haircare lines NAK Professional, NAK Signature and ORI Lab are designed for the needs of both salon professionals and at-home consumers looking for the very best products for their hair. All three lines are developed with naturally derived ingredients for a nature-first products catering to all hair types. My NAK Hair journey starts after I get out of the shower, with the Volume Foam.

Volume Foam

I have fine hair straight hair, but a lot of it! So when it’s long, it becomes thin and almost wispy. But when I cut it short, it’s ultra thick and super straight which makes my chin-length bob look very blunt. The Volume Foam product from NAK Hair gives me the volume I need! It makes my hair feel thick, shiny, and prepped for blow-drying.

Undone Texture Spray

Once my hair is dry, I go in with the Undone Texture Spray from ORI Lab, one of the NAK Hair lines. I usually spray toward my roots and then flip my hair over and spray all around the back of my head. This texture spray gives me ultra-volume from my roots to my ends. The formula is infused with almond and marula oils which not only gives my hair a boost of shine, but also smells absolutely divine! I will reach for this product to refresh my hair on days that I skip washing since it makes my hair smell amazing and gives my day two flat hair that volume boost. Then I go in with my Daimon Barber products.

Male grooming products are every short-haired gal’s secret weapon. I use Daimon Barber products as the finishing touch when styling my short bob, or on special occasions when I want to slick my hair back and do an extra glammed-up makeup look. I love using Daimon Baber products because I know the best and most sustainable ingredients are used, so I can feel good about using these products in my everyday hair styling routine.

Yuzu Paste

Texture Clay

After blow-drying my hair, I will use the Yuzu Paste on a more regular basis. Taking a small dime-sized amount and rubbing between my fingers to warm up the paste before running it through my hair. Depending on my style that day, I will either concentrate on the ends or the roots. This gives me a perfect tousled, on-the-go windswept look, without any wind involved! I like to use the Texture Clay as the holding agent for a slicked-back look. On days when my hair is a little greasy, I’ll go in with a nice scoop of the Texture Clay and run it through my hair, concentrating on my roots. Then, I’ll use a fine comb and use it to slick all my hair back. The Texture Clay is formulated with natural oils, so this product conditions my hair while working it’s firm-hold magic to keep the slick lasting all day long.
