Healthy Belly Bliss: Q&A with Lisa Shkolnik CMO of Crepini

PEC

Breakfast just got a protein-packed upgrade! If you love pancakes but want to avoid the extra calories and fat, then you need Crepini in your life. Crepini makes the most delicious pancakes that appeal to all tastes and ages. In my exclusive interview with Chief Marketing Officer Lisa Shkolnik, she delves into her background, the innovative brand, and more.

Thank you for joining us. Could you please tell us about yourself and how you got involved in the Crepini Company?

My background is actually in fashion, not food. I became involved in the business after I met my husband, whose parents founded Crepini. Early on in our relationship he said to me, ‘If we get married, I’d love for you to work with me the way my parents have always worked together.’ That idea of building something together as a family really resonated with me.

I ended up joining the business about six months before we got married, and over time I found my own role within the company. Coming from a fashion background, I naturally gravitated toward branding, packaging, and how the product connects with consumers, but I also became very involved in the products themselves. It’s been incredibly rewarding to be part of growing a business and bringing my own creative perspective to it, while continuing the tradition of working together as a family.

Why would we want to implement Crepini into our diet and what are your most popular products?

People like incorporating Crepini into their diets because our products are simple, high in protein, and extremely versatile. We focus on clean ingredients and foods that fit seamlessly into everyday meals. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, snacks, or even dessert. Convenience is also key. Families today are busy, and our products make it easy to put together something nutritious and delicious quickly.

Some of our most popular products are our protein pancakes, made with cottage cheese or Greek yogurt, eggs, and oats. They are high in protein but still taste like traditional pancakes. We also have mini pancakes, which are a hit with kids, and egg wraps. When we first launched the egg wraps we spent a lot of time educating consumers on all the different ways they could use the product. Now, we’ve tapped into bigger consumer behavior, and people have naturally integrated them into their routines in multiple ways, which has been exciting to see.

What sets this brand apart from others and will you be producing any new products?

What really sets Crepini apart is that we’re the only refrigerated protein pancakes on the market. Our focus is on using whole, real ingredients, and the protein in our products comes from real sources like cottage cheese and Greek yogurt, not powders or artificial additives. That’s our commitment to quality and simplicity, combined with versatility. Because our products can be used for breakfast, lunch, snacks, or even dessert, that is what makes Crepini stand out. As for new products, we’re always exploring ways to expand the versatility and convenience of the brand while staying true to our focus on simple, whole ingredients, real protein, and of course amazing taste.

Do you have a favorite Crepini recipe you make?

I love Crepini protein pancakes in a couple of ways. If I’m dressing them up, I’ll add a little whipped cream and fresh strawberries. It feels like a treat but still healthy. I also love taking them on the go and eating them cold in the car, especially the chocolate chip protein pancakes, because when they’re cold the chocolate chips get a little crunchy. It’s such a simple, delicious way to enjoy them anytime

Working in the wellness industry for so many years, do you have any health tips or habits that you could share with us?

One habit I try to follow is keeping my meals high in protein because it really helps me feel full and stay energized, especially after having three kids in 5.5 years, when my weight has gone up and down a bit. I love eating Crepini because it feels like a cheat even though it’s not. I can take a protein pancake, add a little whipped cream and fresh fruit, and it feels like I’m indulging in a decadent snack, but I’m getting about 20 grams of protein in the process. It’s that simple switch. Choosing something with real ingredients and high protein that makes it easy to stay healthy, enjoy food, and feel good without feeling deprived.

Is there anything else you would like our readers to know?

I’d like readers to know that Crepini isn’t just about convenience or protein, it’s about making healthy eating simple, enjoyable, and realistic. As a mom and someone who’s balanced a busy life I know how hard it can be to find foods that are both nourishing and feel like a treat. That’s exactly what we aim to do with Crepini. Produce products made with real, whole ingredients, high in protein, and versatile enough to fit into any part of your day. Whether you’re eating them at home, on the go, dressed up for a special snack, or just grabbing something quick between errands, it’s about feeling good while enjoying what you eat.
