Forget the filler and the filter! Sara Happ: The Lip Airbrush is a blurring, satin texture lip cream that’s whisper soft, paper light, and velvety. It blurs, fills, and smooths lines with a soft matte finish with a hydrated feel.Wear it over bare lips or your fave shade. While the tube might seem tiny, a little product goes a long way. Sara Happ is a lip-only brand with GORGEOUS and effective products and I have a jar of their lip scrub in my bathroom at all times and I keep their Lip Slip products on my nightstand so I can drench my pout in overnight moisture. The Lip Airbrush is more of a daytime product you can wear on its own or under your preferred lippie to give it a smooth and sexy base to adhere to.
French beauty brand Violette_FR is, well, the pinnacle of French Girl Beauty. Before the brand was sold in Sephora or exploded onto the scene, I was on the Sunday morning email list from founder and MUA Violette Serrat, and blasting my face with the creamy Boum-Boum Milk hydrating spray. The nozzle and pump dispense a generous dose of product. I STILL finish my daily make up with a spritz since it’s so moisturizing and refreshing. If I get home late and am too tired to apply a face oil before hopping into bed, I give my face three hits of B-BM, so I can moisturize while snoozing. It’s a toner, a serum, and a barrier balancing setting spray. Makeup with skincare benefits, basically! It’s a tall, dreamy, and delish glass of milk for your skin. It has no smell but it’s rich AF.
Violette_FR‘s latest slab of perfection is the Balm Amour — a glossy, thick and rich balm packed to the gills with high performance active. But get this. It’s a completely anhydrous product. What does that mean? Simple! There is no water content. So it’s not diluted and doesn’t evaporate, which makes lips even more parched. Most balms have tons of water! Balm Amour, which is a love letter to your pout, does not! It doesn’t just provide instant relief; it seeps into skin for long term hydration benefits. It’s thick without being goopy and the indulgent vanilla cake scent is luscious. You don’t need to re-apply over and over and over because it seeps into your pucker and keeps it supple all day long. The wide, flat, and ceramic applicator tip ensures you evenly distribute this heavenly hydrator across the surface of your smoocher.
’00s-beloved brand Smashbox has grabbed my attention by the throat with its latest innovations.
Smashbox Metal FX Eyeliner gives your eyes all the extra oomph. The four shades are part of the brand’s SBXRated studio collection drops and I am in LOVE! These no tug, no pull metallic, melted liner add dimension to the upper lash or inner water line. The pigment does not migrate. The creamy, twist up tip allows you to control the intensity and smoke out your liner without smudging it… unless you want to. I ran the tip on my water line four times and then ran it just below and smudged with my finger to level up my eye look when it was too hot to do anything else. If you want to get graphic and do an extreme look, well, Metal FX liners will answer the call. If these are sold out by the time you read this, the third party site splurge is worth the coin. I don’t normally recommend such action, but in this special case, I do!
It’s hot. What cools you off more or better than a big, melty scoopy of rainbow sherbet? While LANEIGE‘s luscious and limited-edition Baskin-Robbins Rainbow Sherbet Lip Sleeping Mask does not have a cooling effect, it does drench lips in hydration. The brand’s best-selling and Internet-adored hero product now boasts marble technology and swirled colors! It’s a triple dip of Orange, Pineapple, and Raspberry. Slather it on at night so the moisture seeps into your pout and wake up with the softest lips EVER. Or you can apply through the day for some peachy pink megawatt shine.
They say if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. But what if you can make something great…even better? Go for it, right?! Well, that’s just what Urban Decay did with its beloved, cult fave All Nighter Setting Spray franchise. The product, which sets makeup after application, gives you a much-needed and hydrating refresh when you blast it through the day. Bonus tip: It also can be used on dry products like eyeshadow to amplify their intensity. The formula has been updated and retooled for the first time since its 2010 introduction! The new version will COMPLETELY REPLACE the original, which will be wiped out from all retail spaces — both digital and brick-and-mortar. DO NOT FREAK OUT, All Nighter lovers. I know it’s hard to accept change and to let go of a legend. But it’s getting a major upgrade. I promise! The sprayer’s mist is 22% finer, leading to a softer, more cloud-like application. The spritz is MUCH less aggressive. The old spritzer used to launch product at your face. I sorta felt like I was being punched by the product! Now, it comes out softer and lands evenly across my whole face… It also offers 24-hour wear, as opposed to the previous 16-hour wear, which feel paltry by comparison when you think of it. No one wears makeup for 24 hours, but if you use this as a moisture booster, then it DOES matter! But here’s the kicker: it will actually cool your skin by 3 degrees upon contact. I love that the mist is much softer. It comes in natural, matte, and glow finishes, so whatever suits your mood. There is some online controversy brewing about this relaunch, since the OG formula was crafted by Skindinavia. This new version effectively ends that partnership but Skindinavia will continue to make the OG formula if you want to stick with it (and you can and should!) Personally, I did not notice MUCH of a difference between the formulas. I do LOVE the cloud-like mister and the fresh, light scent! You can go dewy, matte, or natural finish.
