My biggest beauty tip before any long-haul flight is a spa trip. So that’s what I did before leaving Thailand: I spent the day at a gorgeous Korean spa in the heart of Bangkok. Su Esthetic is a family-owned spa that treats guests like royalty with a cozy ambiance, detailed services, and hours of relaxation.
My pick for the afternoon was the organic spa package for a facial, scrub, and massage. My treatment therapist was Khun Duan, a sweet woman who made me feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the session.
The Scrub
Baked sugar cookies: the smell that entered my mind (and nose) when Khun Duan scrubbed my body down. I was transported into a bakery slash oasis with each passing swipe. Truly bliss. Afterwards, I got into the bath and rinsed off the sweet potion until my skin glistened and gleamed.
The Massage
Post-bath, it was time for my favorite part: the massage. Khun Duan communicated any pressure preferences and dimmed the lights before starting the session. I slipped into a state of bliss as she worked on the knots in my shoulders and lower back. Eventually, as always, I fell asleep, which is a sign of a well-needed rest at the hands of this pro.
The Facial
After waking up from my dreamy slumber, I felt rested and ready to go for my last treatment of the day: the facial. Khun Duan swept away impurities from my skin with an aloe-based cleanser and followed up with an oil massage to soothe the tension on my face. Next, she applied a face mask to calm my skin and followed up with a serum and moisturizer to seal in the hydration.
My Afterthoughts
My experience at Su Esthetic provided an ideal chance to unwind and rejuvenate before heading back to NYC. The exceptional service from Khun Duan made me feel at ease throughout the entire process. My visit was tailored, considerate, and truly enjoyable.
