The Art of the Dog

New York City has no shortage of unique museums, and the AKC Museum of the Dog is one of them. Combining a 1,700-piece collection of fine art with high-tech interpretive displays, the Museum of the Dog captures the hearts of its canine-loving visitors.

On Thursday, the Museum partners with the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation for a great cause. It will honor the German Shepherd, a breed Fidelco trains and breeds exclusively. The event will highlight how the German Shepherd has changed the lives of its clients who are visually impaired.

The “Art of the Dog” fundraiser will take place Thursday, September 23rd 2021 from 5:30pm- 7:30pm at the AKC Museum of the Dog.

To kick off the night, there will be a tour of the current Search and Rescue exhibit which highlights the rescue and recovery efforts of 9/11. To close out the night, there will be a demonstration of one of the guide dogs painting their own work followed by a live auction of several paintings. Guests not able to attend can participate in an online auction of paintings created by the guide dogs. Proceeds of this fundraiser will go to the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation and the AKC Museum of the Dog.
