Kaufman Franco SS 2014

Supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio backstage Kaufman Franco SS14

Throughout the Kaufman Franco Spring 2014 collection you will find bold colors, tribal outlines and beaded African inspired pieces. Frank B., lead makeup artist for M.A.C. Cosmetics was inspired by the cool, tough tribal pieces seen throughout the collection. Frank wanted to bring out the tribal vibe by creating a bold eye look (as seen on supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio). Using M.A.C. Black Track gel eyeliner he lined the upper and lower lash line with a thin black line, coming out from the outer corner of the eyes in a straight line. To heighten the eyeliner, the makeup artist chose not to use mascara or to fill in the eyebrows. By not using any products on the model’s lashes or brows, the eyeliner was the central focus for a tribal effect. Leaving the skin bare he opted to only use M.A.C. Mineralized Bronzer in Sun Power on cheeks, forehead and chin. To finish off the look a sheer lipgloss was applied on the lips.

Antonio Corral Calero, Moroccanoil Artistic Director was lead hair stylist for Kaufman Franco Spring 2014 Collection. The look was inspired by a free-spirited and confident girl on the go. He wanted there to be contrast with structure and texture. He started off with wet hair mixing together Moroccanoil Treatment and Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream. By mixing these products together gives the hair a healthy shine and a soft hold. Antonio blow dried the hair using Moroccanoil Ionic Ceramic Round Brush. Using Moroccanoil ceramic brush helps give lift to the roots, building fullness and volume. After achieving the amount of fullness the hair maven then grabbed the entire length of hair at the nape of the neck and lightly wrapped an elastic band, leaving a few pieces loose on top to create texture and volume. After creating the desired ponytail he then wrapped a few strands of hair around the elastic band. To finish the look, a stretchy black headband was wrapped around the hair line.

Moments before call time Patricia Yankee, nail stylist for Kaufman Franco fashion show was given color direction to go for the show. Patricia created a custom textured gold polish for the model’s fingernails and toes. For the base of the polish she used her Patricia Yankee Diadem gold polish. She then mixed it with gold flakes giving the polish an iridescent finish and textural feel. Before applying the polish, she used Patricia Yankee Support Base Coat and topped with Patricia Yankee Protect Top Coat.  The exclusive Kaufman Franco nail look with be added to the Patricia Yankee nail collection for Spring 2014.
