The Miraculous Pillow Talk Fair

I have always loved the glitz and drama of Charlotte Tilbury – the drama of Old Hollywood, the evocation of the Golden Age captured in small gold compacts. The Pillow Talk lipstick was everywhere – and everything – when it first came out, and it still is. How devastating it was to apply the liner, then the heavy golden bullet, and be faced in the mirror with a lip look that was somewhere between muddy brown and pumpkin orange. Unfortunately, original Pillow Talk, gorgeous as it is in the tube, is not for everyone – especially those of us who are either very fair or have cool undertones. Enter: Pillow Talk Fair!

This spinoff of original Pillow Talk is lighter, cooler, and pinker than its predecessor; it is also in the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. range (moisturizing and satin finish) rather than Matte Revolution. I was so excited to try this one because its blue undertone is so apparent (which is really hard to find), and it did not disappoint. If you are someone on whom, bafflingly, lip colors always seem to look completely different on than in the tube, you just might be cool-toned. Most makeup nowadays, I have found, is warm-toned.

Pillow Talk Fair comes in Lip Cheat Liner (my new favorite everyday liner) and Collagen Lip Bath Gloss (perfect with just the liner for a less saturated look). It is neither too bright nor too nude – it’s perfection. If you are cool-toned or fair, you must try it for yourself.
