Taking PackIt to the grocery store, on a picnic, or to the beach is a whole lot easier and more convenient than toting a bulky cooler stacked with ice packs. On the night before you need to use it, simply fold PackIt and place it in your freezer. When you remove it from the freezer the next day, it is ready to keep food chilled for hours.
To test how much PackIt can hold I filled it with the following groceries: four 16.9 ounce bottles of sparkling water, a 13 ounce package of frozen vegetables, two frozen dinners weighing in at 10 ounces each, two 9.5 ounce salad and dressing kits, and a 10 ounce package of hummus. There was enough room to accommodate approximately two more items but I didn’t want to overstuff it and make it too heavy to comfortably carry.
It is definitely worthwhile to invest $29.99 to keep perishable foods fresh if one isn’t heading straight home after visiting the supermarket or local Farmers’ Market. PackIt is also a great alternative to using a tote bag if you live in a town or city where plastic bags are banned.
