Starting from January 21 thru February 2, Complexions Contemporary Ballet will rock the rafters at The Joyce Theatre on 8th Avenue in Chelsea with several different programs and the world premier of “Love Rocks” – a work set to the music of iconic singer/musician and Grammy Award winner, Lenny Kravitz.
There are two different programs: Program A opens on Tuesday, January 21, with the return of “Bach 25.” Set to the music of Johann Sebastian and Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, the popular piece features the full company in continuous movement to the Baroque composers’ dramatic compositions. In the second week (Program B), the company will reprise “Woke,” a physical reaction to the daily news.
The gala fundraiser this year is on Thursday, January 23 with a selection of the troupe’s various works. Proceeds from this performance will continue to help build Complexions’ educational initiatives through scholarships, mentorship programs and the development of dance training.
