Our Q&A with Margo Copeland, Owner and Founder of NABAYA Beauty, delves into her background, her clean skincare brand, and her dreams for the future!
What first sparked your passion for beauty and skincare?
From a young age, my passion for beauty and skincare was ignited by my experiences with my mother. She would take me to see her aesthetician, a lovely Polish woman. Her name was Elsa, she was in her late 70s, and she operated from her home. The moment I stepped inside, I was enveloped by the delightful scent of fresh skincare products. This lady, with her stunningly moisturized skin, beautiful hands, and graceful neck, radiated health and beauty. She had never undergone any surgeries; her glow came solely from her natural self-care routine, which left a lasting impression on me when I was just five years old.
I held onto the memory of the fragrance from her kitchen, where she crafted skincare products for her clients. That scent remained in my mind and imagination, and I successfully recreated it in my Radiant Glow Facial Polish.
I knew then that I wanted to be involved in the beauty industry. However, as life progressed and I had my third child, I faced significant changes in my body and skin, especially during menopause. I discovered that I had developed severe allergies and could no longer use any products available on the market.
After graduating from one of the best schools in Western Europe, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I began creating my own skincare formulas, not just for myself but also for others with autoimmune disorders and severe allergies like mine. My goal was to provide luxury products that allow people to feel moisturized, glowing, and happy—without compromising their health.
What’s one beauty ritual you discovered over your travels that still influences your formulations today?
One beauty ritual I discovered during my travels that continues to influence my formulations today is the importance of gentle exfoliation. It’s essential to exfoliate every single day, using anything safe that can effectively exfoliate the skin. I personally prefer glycolic acids and my Radiant Glow Facial Polish, which serves as both an exfoliator and a moisturizing mask, providing two key benefits.

NABAYA Beauty products are known for being gentle and effective, even for sensitive skin. Was this a personal priority for you, and why?
Gentleness and effectiveness for sensitive skin were personal priorities for me because I experienced severe allergic reactions that left red patches all over my skin. I could no longer use any products without suffering from irritation and tears. In the beauty industry, looking good and glowing is essential, yet I found that many products cause allergies due to heavy fragrances and thick formulations.
Faced with this challenge, I made the decision to create my own line. I’m so glad I did, as it allowed me to not only help myself, but also assist others who face similar struggles. My goal was to provide a luxurious experience without side effects, inflammation, or discomfort. With my products, users can simply go to bed, wake up feeling great, and enjoy glowing, beautiful skin without any hassle.
Congrats on your rebrand! What inspired this refresh, and what message do you hope it conveys?
We recently rebranded to NABAYA Beauty, focusing on more convenient packaging for travel while maintaining the Luxury product formulas. The name change was deeply personal. After struggling my whole life with the loss of my father, I chose to name the line after him to keep his memory close and ensure his presence remains in my life. Growing up in a traditional Armenian family, I hold family values in high regard, and the message behind this rebrand is to always cherish and stay close to those you love.
What’s the ideal order for applying NABAYA products to get the best results?
For those with oily skin, I recommend the Arnica Bliss Cleanser twice a day, while those with dry skin should cleanse once at night. Exfoliation is key — use the Radiant Glow Facial Polish once a week, leaving it on for 10 to 20 minutes for a moisturizing mask effect. After exfoliating, clean your skin with our Reviving Peptide Toner twice daily, in the morning and at night, and feel free to spray it throughout the day as a refreshing primer or to enhance your makeup glow. The Reviving Peptide Toner contains several peptides and Matrixyl 3000, ensuring your skin stays moisturized and radiant. For hydration, use a daytime Vitality 5 Peptide Cream. At night, switch to our Lunar Night Cream.
What has been the most rewarding moment for you since launching NABAYA?
The most rewarding moment isn’t just now or in the past; it’s ongoing with every product, cream, jar, and bottle someone purchases. Each one carries a piece of my soul, heart, and dedication, which I am proud to share with everyone.
If you could give one skincare tip to someone struggling with sensitive skin, what would it be?
If I could offer one skincare tip for those struggling with sensitive skin, it would be to read the ingredients very carefully for everything you apply. Your skin is an organ, and whatever you put on it enters your system, so be cautious about what you purchase and use. This applies to makeup as well, like mascara, lipsticks, blushes, everything. The beauty market is flooded with products, so it’s essential to be diligent and informed.
Where do you see NABAYA in five years, and are there any exciting projects on the horizon?
I love this question! In five years, I see NABAYA flourishing all over the world. I’m excited to expand into Europe and reach places I’ve promised to share our products with. My goal is to educate and inform people about skincare while providing personal care to every customer. I want to stay connected with them through Instagram and other social media platforms, delivering the best experience possible.
