I love bags, and have backpacks, duffles, totes…but I’ve found a bag from WANDRD that Does It All. The Transit Travel Backpack is versatile, and ideal for photographers and other creative who tote around the tools of their trade. I do a lot of urban exploration photography, which has me in and out of abandoned buildings, trudging through fields and forests, and dealing with changing weather.I wanted something that would keep my gear dry, provide quick access to my camera, and enable me to pack all the extras I needed.
The exterior has a lot of pocketing, which doesn’t detract from the roomy interior. It features two water bottle pockets, one small and one oversized, with the oversized also functioning as a tripod holder, and both can zip back into the bag when not in use. Other subtle-yet-thoughtful organizational features include a padded laptop/tablet pocket, hidden Passport/travel wallet pocket, a hidden AirTag pocket, and a horizontal luggage pass-through, so it’s as easy as possible to handle your luggage and find what you need on the spot.
The interior boasts several different compartments for easy organizing. For example, the left side of the bag has two mesh pockets built upon one large pocket for keeping things like shoes separate. The right side of the bag (main compartment) includes two ‘small stuff’ pockets for those items you don’t want buried under your luggage, and a large, open packing space. Attachment straps at the base of the bag provide the option to add a Camera Cube (described below), which is an awesome function for photographers. Additionally, accessory strap loops can be added in to secure your luggage, making it even better for travel.
The bag is also stylish and well-crafted. I have the 35L in black (it comes in two colors, Black and Wasatch Green) and I feel that even at max capacity (it has 5L of expansion) it still looked great on my small frame. Initially I was a bit worried that it would dig into my shoulders and be uncomfortable, so I was surprised when it wasn’t, thanks to foam-molded shoulder straps, an adjustable sternum strap, and a back panel that distributes weight evenly. Durable materials like Tarpaulin and ROBIC 1680D Ballistic Nylon and weatherproof YKK zippers ensure that even in inclement weather, my stuff will stay dry. These bags also come with several options for add-ons such as Packing Cubes and the Camera Cube.
The Packing Cube Bundle comes with three cubes in small, medium, and large. They have a mesh front panel to easily eye what you have stowed. A few other elements differentiate these from other brands, and my favorite aspect is the laundry pocket built in to the bottom of each cube. This is such a helpful option when traveling and have worn your clothes, but still want them organized. For those of us who tend to pack a little more than we should, the expandable zipper allows you to expand the cube and then zip it closed to compress.

The Essential Camera Cube is a nice add-on for photographers like myself. It comes with removable padding that you can arrange to protect your gear, and can fit a mirrorless camera and several lenses. Sturdily situated at the base of the backpack with the use of embedded attachment straps, it’s easily accessible through a zippered pocket in the side of the bag. This is my favorite aspect because I can’t count how many times I’ve missed The Perfect Shot because I am struggling to grab my camera. It also has two loops for attaching a strap, providing the option to ditch the bag and carry the cube alone when you want to travel light.
