The Naturopathica Spa & Healing Center is a soothing and calm environment where I went for one of the best facials I have ever had. If you are looking for a facial that will provide immediate results that last beyond the next day, you owe it to yourself to visit Naturopathica.
Naturopathica was founded in 1995, by Barbara Close, a trained herbalist and esthetician who developed products based on the healing power of nature, and a holistic approach to skincare. New York locations are: East Hampton, Chelsea, and Tribeca. I visited the Chelsea location on West 26th Street, which has a shop filled with high performance products containing natural ingredients and clean cosmeceuticals The spa is at the back of the store, and although it is small, it has a locker room and relaxation area where you can wait before your treatment.
I chose the Defy Facial, and it is aptly named because it really defies expectations. It combats fine lines and stimulates collagen production through a holistic alternative to more invasive anti-aging procedures. This facial incorporates maximum strength ingredients such as Vitamin C, Retinol, and Alpha Hydroxy Acids, along with a vortex-fusion HydraFacial technology combined with firming LED light treatment, to make your skin firmer and more vibrant.
The Defy Facial also included massage that really helps to stimulate circulation and plump up your skin. By the time my facial was over, I was very relaxed, and my face felt invigorated and clean. My skin was so much brighter and smoother than when I came into the spa.
At my age, sometimes just having a facial does not produce noticeable results, but the Defy Facial is now my go-to spa treatment when I want my skin to look younger, more refreshed, and brighter.
