Hey Beauty Babes! Your residential spa girl here, Sonjirose, and I’m back with another spa review in the Garden State. I spent the week visiting my family in Jersey and decided to book a Deep Tissue Massage at the local Hand & Stone in Turnersville, NJ.
First Impressions
The start of my treatment began with filling out my waiver in the lobby. The general medical info but what stood out to me was the section about controlling music, pressure of the massage, and lighting. Back in the day, when I first went to spas, I did not speak up when music was too loud or I was too cold. Of course, most places are more than happy to accommodate this. Nonetheless, I appreciate it explicitly stated in the paperwork at Hand & Stone. After completing my paperwork the massage therapist called me back for my treatment.
The Experience
The massage therapist led me to the room and went over exceptions of the treatment like disrobing, pressure, and heating of the table. After she left, I disrobed and climbed onto the table. She came back in and started on the massage. Beginning with my temples and shoulder area she massaged away my knots. Then she worked her way to my arms, legs, and feet.
I requested special attention to my feet. Recently, I started working out constantly so my feet were getting the brunt of impact from recent exercises. Her firm and consistent pressure on my soles was exactly what I needed. After releasing the tension, she added a hot towel to my feet to finish off the area. She continued onto my back and eventually I fell asleep on the table.
All too soon, my massage was complete. She gave me a gentle waking and left so I could dress. Once I left the room she had a cup of water for me and I was off to enjoy the rest of my day.
Final Thoughts
My experience at Hand & Stone was a no-frills massage that was high quality and checked off all my needs in a massage. I requested special attention on particular areas on and my massage therapist delivered. The convince of location is perfect for me. I was even able to do some shopping post-treatment in the center. I recommend stopping by your local Hand & Stone for some self-care this summer.
