A teeth cleaning can be fun at Tend dentistry. They offer an array of services, such as teeth whitening, orthodontics, and even emergency visits. With multiple locations across the Big Apple (and the USA), I made my way to their Grand Central location the morning before winter break. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the receptionist and gave her my details for a routine dental exam and teeth cleaning. She offered me some boxed water, a teeth brushing kit, and told me that the dental hygienist would be with me very soon.
I freshened up in their section of sinks and glossy mirrors with my brushing kit. I squirted a bit of toothpaste onto my brush and brushed away, making sure to get all the nook and crannies.
Once I rinsed my mouth, the dental hygienist came to get me, leading me back to start my exam. The room was very aesthetically pleasing with tones of tan and mint green – and even a monitor with my name flashing by onscreen. I sat in the chair that had a sweet recline, and the dental hygienist asked me about my oral history and any problem areas. Afterwards, she went to work taking X-rays of my teeth. It was swift and painless, and before long, I was finished. Her attitude was pleasant as she asked me if I have been flossing (I replied not as much as I should have); then she explained the proper way to floss, even providing a how-to tip for making it a good habit: doing it once a week and then building up every week until I was doing it everyday.
The dentist came in to go over my chart, and surmised that my teeth looked pretty good… I just needed to work on flossing. Which, hey, I appreciated… and grabbed some floss from the drugstore after my appointment.
The dental hygienist then started the cleaning portion of my visit, but before she did, she gave me a pair of headphones, shades, and the remote so I could watch something on the flat-screen on the ceiling! I opted for an ocean show as she polished my pearly whites and cleaned any imperfections. After an episode, I was finished and she sent me on my way to the lobby.
Afterthoughts: My teeth felt fresh after my cleaning and I had a lot of questions answered (like the proper way to hold my electric toothbrush).
