Take A Glance into the Windows of the Soul
Our eyes hold stories, memories, emotions, and the conditions of our lives– that lack spoken language. What do my eyes say? I found out through an alternative practice called iridology. Iridology is the practice of looking at health impacts through the irises as a result of examining the eye and revealing the conditions of our bodies since birth. In learning more I did my research and came across the New York Center for Iridology. I headed to Brooklyn to investigate what my irises were saying.
History
Owned and operated by couple Judy and Harvey Vedder, I found myself in their cozy office decorated with eye decor. The Vedders came to this practice after a series of health issues Judy was experiencing and went to an iridologist as a last hope. After some suggestions post-session, she put them into practice and found a personal positive impact on her wellbeing. Judy and Harvey founded the New York Center for Iridology back in 1996 and has been offering another perspective to curious folks near and far.
My Experience: The Images
Harvey led me to the photo station to get a clear look and photos of my eyes. I put my chin in the holder (similar to going to an ophthalmologist) as Harvey shined a light into the side of my eye and snapped a photo of the left eye and then the right eye. The process was pretty routine and easy to do. The practice is non-invasive so contact wearers can participate, though I had to remove my glasses, in total the process took five minutes. Well…onto the fun part: the eye reading!
Judy Vedder, CI, MH went straight to work, as she uploaded the images of my eyes to her computer. She rendered the photos to get a better view of my eye and began the start of our session. Some background on iridology: the irises show every organ in the human body.
The Reading
After gazing into the images Judy suggested there was surplus candida (a fungus in our guts) in my body (quick note: candida usually is caused by refined sugar and stress). Judy touched on a few problem areas I have been having around my immune system and hormones from reading my irises, which I realized was accurate to my current situation in life. She went into more detail about the reading as I wrote notes and asked follow-up questions, which Judy was kind and compassionate in answering, breaking down information, and elaborating further.
ZYTO Hand Scanner
As our session waxed on, Judy brought out a ZYTO hand scanner. The scanner works as follows: it analyzes galvanic skin signals from each body organ, thus confirming and modifying what the irises show, and by reading cell health by picturing a diagram of green (balanced) and red (imbalance) dots within a circle range. My report came up with low energy and lung imbalances, which lined up with how I have been feeling these past months (seasonal depression person here). Judy noted some herbs I could take to assist with my energy levels. Judy and Harvey answered any lingering questions. Afterward, I gathered my belongings and went into the streets of Brooklyn, feeling that I could see clearly into my holistic journey.
My Final Thoughts
I would recommend an appointment with the New York Center for Iridology for fun and alternative insight as a part of your journey of self-discovery. For those seeking the holistic path the iridology method identifies weaknesses, strengths, genetically acquired issues, and the current state of every organ in your body so you know what direction to take. The session comes in at a price tag of $180 so consider this a gift for birthdays, special occasions, or the holidays.
Find them at 8215 4th Avenue Suite A-5 which is a short 3 block walk from the 86th Street R stop. May your future be crystal clear in 2024 with a session from the New York Center for Iridology.
