Home Gym Essentials—From Rebounder To Reformer And More

Ditch the clunky equipment that wound up dusty and abandoned in a corner of the living room.  Abandon the health club membership you barely use. Developing your own personal workout space ensures consistent workout on your preferred schedule.

Here’s how to put it all together using smart equipment.

A Mini Trampoline’s High-Return Fitness Benefits

Working out in a small space isn’t a problem when using Forza’s Mini Exercise Trampoline. It’s easy to set up and easy to store. This equipment is one of my favs and I use it on almost a daily basis. My advice is to take it slow at first. Simply marching or walking on it offers joint-friendly conditioning and beneficial lymphatic stimulation.

It didn’t take long to progress to a more advanced level. I’ve discovered several motivating YouTube videos that transformed my trampoline workout into a fun, invigorating routine. To learn about the benefits of rebounding, visit.

Don’t Skip the Basics: A Thick, Quality Exercise Mat

Forza’s Tri-Folding Exercise Mat is a home gym game changer. Packed with PE cotton, it is the thickest exercise mat (very soft and shock absorbent)  I’ve ever used and neatly folds for storage. Unlike thinner exercise mats, it lifts me further off the floor, providing a stable,  firm, and comfortable platform with stellar support. I use it for yoga, stretching, and floor exercises. Highly recommended!

The Anchor Piece: The Pilates Reformer

Using BetterMe’s Mini Pilates Reformer is a new experience for me because I’d never incorporated Pilates into my fitness routine before. I use it to strengthen, tone, and stretch at my own pace, often following the routine in this 5-minute workout video. Is it worth the hype? 100 percent, yes! It’s the perfect Pilates equipment to use in small spaces and one can use it to exercise with Pilates Reformer videos providing adaptable, joint-friendly workouts.

Balance Training: A fun way to perform yoga exercises, strengthen your core, and practice balance exercises.

One of the most challenging pieces of exercise equipment I own is Gibbon USA’s SlackBoard. Despite the “Slack” in its name, this board does not allow me to slack off.  Ironically, although it improves one’s balancing ability, it was possible to get injured if I didn’t start off slowly. Therefore, I highly advise newbies to use Gibbon’s SlackBoard Pole to increase stability when starting out.

Gibbon USA helpfully provides useful “Getting Started” videos  to get acquainted with the basics. One can also purchase exercise cards featuring 52 SlackBoard exercises along with instructions and illustrations. Click on this link to sample the exercise cards.

Here is an informative video on how to use the SlackBoard for Physical Therapy.

Finally, although it is not necessary, this American birchwood SlackBoard stand is an attractive, space-saving way to store your SlackBoard when it is not in use.

A Multitasking Water Bottle That Elevates Your Workout Experience

Sometimes a water bottle is more than just a water bottle.  RHINOSHIELD’S multi-angle Aquastand Magnetic Bottle doubles as a handy tripod or phone stand to add to your home gym. Use it to keep a cool beverage handy to sip after working out to the exercise video you’ve just watched on the phone attached to its magnetic phone stand.

The Non-Negotiable for Bone and Muscle Health

Lifting weights is essential for keeping muscles toned and aging well. To learn about my favorite piece of weight-training equipment, refer this prior feature.
