After achieving success as a contestant on ABC’s Making the Band, O-Town band member, and the male lead in the Broadway musical Wicked, Ashley Parker Angel left the entertainment industry burned out. Though he changed his lifestyle to embrace health and wellness, he was still diagnosed with the precursors to heart disease. Instead of committing to a lifetime of medication to treat his condition, Angel teamed up with cardiologist Dr. David G. Rizik to find an alternative treatment plan.
The rockstar-meets-doctor collab first launched with Heart + Body + Mind. Formulated from medical grade, clinically studied ingredients, this supplement rich in Omega-3s, CoQ10, and Vitamin E supports cardiovascular health. The two then continued their wellness mission with High Level Man, an adaptogenic formula to support vitality and stamina for men with active lifestyles. By way of an even larger collab with supplement retailer GNC, High Level Science has expanded with formulas for Women’s Health. The result is something that Angel couldn’t be more excited about as he embarks on a nationwide High Level Science “Making The Brand Tour.”
I talked to Angel about his career, how he pivoted to health coaching, and managing the High Level Science brand.
Q & A with Ashley Parker Angel,
1. You were in the boy band O-Town. What made you decide to turn to health and wellness?
I started as a kid from a small town growing up being obsessed with fitness. I actually thought I’d use fitness to get into the entertainment world like so many actors that broke into entertainment but auditioned for Making The Band, launched O-Town, then had a solo career, then pivoted into Broadway, where I was the lead in Wicked and Hairspray. Twenty years of taking care of myself as a frontman or on Broadway, I learned the power of proper supplementation not only for your physical health but for your mental health as well. As you can imagine, doing eight shows a week on Broadway, you get one day off a week. So, I had to take care of myself. I was battling a lot of fatigue and exhaustion as well.
I ended up pivoting right out of that and becoming a certified coach and launched an online health and wellness online community right before Covid hit. After twenty years of being in entertainment I could change someone’s life for an hour or two on stage at night, but through teaching people health and wellness, I could change their lives forever.
There is so much in the supplement industry that is unregulated especially not regulated by the FDA. The same thing that goes on in ultra processed foods where people are reading ingredients to avoid artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives. That exists in the supplement world still. So, I found a doctor that dealt with natural healing. Instead of writing a prescription, Dr. Rizik went through natural healing and supplements. All my cardiovascular health markers improved three to six months later after following his regimen. Dr. Rizik has won three Emmy awards and sits on the board on the FDA. We then created High Level Science medical supplements, so what we offer is actually backed by science and medicine. There is a huge hole in the market for quality and purity. GNC picked it up and I tapped back into my entertainment background and started Making The Brand Tour. Our generation now knows how to take care of ourselves so we can live a lot longer.
2. Tell me more about High Level Science.
I started dabbling in supplements following Wicked. You want to operate and live on a higher level. I am a cofounder of the company and went on the road for it. The number one trend in the world of supplements is that people want doctor crafted formulas that are actually going to work. High Level Science is about striving a higher-level standard across the board.

3. How did you partner with GNC?
We went to a supplement trade show in Denver. I grabbed the CEO of GNC, who was there, and gave him a quick elevator pitch. The story floored him, especially my partnership with Dr. Rizik, and thought it was incredible and wanted to launch the product at GNC.
So, we launched two products: One is called Heart, Body, and Mind. The ingredients contain Omega-3, CoQ10, and Vitamin E. It’s a three in one and the interest in Omega-3 supplementation alone is incredible right now. Omega-3 help with the building blocks of brain function, health, and mood. They are good for longevity as well. The other product is High Level Man: The Ultimate Twelve in One Testosterone Formula. It’s a men’s sexual wellness product.
GNC has picked up three more of our products in the span of three to six months for women. Two of them for women. Women have always been underserved in supplements and that’s why we are really excited about. We are launching a creatine formula for women in the Fall. One is hormone and vitality for women, and the other is a four in one urinary track formula. We will keep growing but right now we are available at GNC and on our website LiveHighLevel.com and now launching internationally as well.
4. How important was it to include both women and men for this?
Women go through more hormonally than men do. We didn’t want to leave anyone out. The High Level Woman Hormone and Vitality is meant to address PCOS and menopause or perimenopause. I think the industry needed something like this. When you go to a supplement health and wellness store, there’s a small aisle for women and 90 percent is targeted for men. That makes no sense. Dr. Rizik is a full proponent for women’s health.
5. How important is health and wellness in 2026? What can we look forward to in the future?
I always like to say fifty is the new thirty, forty is the new twenty. The importance of nutrition is that you want to eat healthy. Even if you ate a perfectly healthy diet, you still are not getting a lot of the vital nutrients because it’s not in our food anymore. The quality of the supplements also matters. So much science goes into it. Nutrition is important but some people don’t have that energy anymore. One of the easiest ways to start changing how you feel, is to take the proper supplements. Then you will feel more motivated.

6. You are currently on Making The Brand Tour with GNC.
We have gone around the country, and we are going to do it again. So, we have gone to over 500 GNC stores so far. We hit all the major markets so far and we will hit the smaller markets again. We throw these karaoke parties in a GNC store. It gets people out of the house and into the store. I think people are excited to have these community driven experiences. GNC has been in business for 95 years and they have been the gold standard of supplement stores. It’s been an incredible partnership.
