You don’t have to work in a toy shop to realize how much there is to get done this time of year. Holidays can be overwhelming. From decorations to gift giving to hosting and everything in between, the length of one’s to-do list can easily rival the length of one of Santa’s own judicious lists. This leaves oh-so little time for everyday chores like cooking. But, just because you don’t have time to make a homemade meal, doesn’t mean anyone has to know.
Homemade Doesn’t Have To Be You-Made

With a rotating menu full of delicious creations, Jennie’s Kitchen has taken the work out of making food at home. The service provides an impressive variety of meals with organic ingredients sourced from the Tri-State area. These meals require little more than reheating or plating to serve, but offer all the appeal of a home-cooked meal.
The process is simple. Once shoppers have chosen their weekly meals, they can schedule a delivery time that works for their schedule. Delivery is available to residents of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island, parts of Queens and Long Island, and select Tri-State areas. (The delivery cycle and locations can be found here.) What’s really key here is that there is no monthly fee, so if you happen to be a commitment phobe, this service speaks your love language!
Testing the Goods
I had a chance to try out Jennie’s Kitchen. The selection, ordering, and delivery process was easy as promised. The meals stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to five days, and some items can be frozen, so it might help to create a gameplan. My personal plan involved trying the Nutella S’mores Bars as soon as humanly possible. These scrumptious goodies are a sweet, chewy confection layered with graham cracker, nutella, and marshmallows, and are just as addictive as they sound!

I prepared the Hatch Green Chicken Enchilada Soup for lunch. It was a creative, fresh mix of ingredients with a zesty Southwestern flavor. The soup came with several toppings including shredded cheese, tortilla strips, sliced radish, cilantro, and avocado. The attention to detail was impressive, and the soup hit all the right notes on a chilly day.
Another lunch option I tried was the Buffalo Chicken, Blue Cheese & Celery Wraps, and these required absolutely no additional effort. They were quick and tasty, exactly what lunch calls for.

The comfort food I didn’t know I needed, though, was the Double Crust Beef Short Rib Pot Pie. It was warm and flavorful, and had all the appeal of a toasty, pub-cooked meal without having to leave my home.
Santa Doesn’t Need To Know Who Made His Cookies
These meals save you the hours you would otherwise spend at the store or preparing the food, and leave you more time to wrap gifts, visit friends, or just take in the seasonal vibes, with a holiday tipple, perhaps.
JK also has a gourmet menu available for December. This menu features hearty dishes fit for holiday gatherings like 50 Layer Lasagna, Potato Latkes, and Pecan Pie. The meals are sure to impress guests, and neither them, or St. Nick, for that matter, ever need to find out who made them in the first place.
