In a world of mirco-trends and fast fashion, there are two companies that centers the human first: The Bee & The Fox and Noux. These two brands revolve around female empowerment, ethical production, and giving back to communities in need. Read on to discover more and add their garments to your summer wardrobe.
The Bee & The Fox
A brand that has the cutest, sassiest, and most colorful shirts for folks who adore a powerful message and soft tee. Mom-owned-and-run by Ashley, a designer who combines self expression and morals into graphic tees that get hella compliments. In my rotation of tees from The Bee & The Fox are Readers are Leaders. When I need a boost in my book challenge or tutor my 11-year-old student in reading, I slip into this soft cotton shirt to remember who I am (a reader at heart with good fashion taste). I’ve gotten soooo many thumbs up from my local librarian with this shirt on!
Plant medicine is on the rise so why not wear what I actually think. The Ask Your Doctor if Psilocybin Might Be Right for You shirt is all that and more with cute mushrooms and bright orange accents. My favorite place to wear this shirt is yoga class and when I go to visit my doctors. My primary doc laughed and had no comments beyond “Nice shirt”. Hey, I’ll take it and spread my message with this The Bee & The Fox tee.
For all the queer babes and rainbow lovers find your fit with the Rainbow Ringer Tee. Business in the front with a navy top and partyyy in the back with a pastel rainbow pattern that gives a little extra something each time I pull my hair up. I will be including this shirt in my Pride ‘fit this summer!
Psst…The Bee & The Fox donates a part of their profits regularly to American Association of University Woman (AAUW). We love a girls girl!!!
NOUX
Starting from the bottom (and top) layer of undergarments, so why not go ethical? Our underwear and bras are one of the used items of clothing so get the very best with NOUX. NOUX, ran and founded by Bre, is a company that sources indie underwear and bras and sends them off in monthly subscriptions. In every subscription purchased they donate one pair of undies and bras to a woman in need. Which matters deeply, since undergarments are one of the least donated items of clothing to folks experiencing homelessness. NOUX is truly doing the good work!
The April set that I was sent was a caramel colored soft triangle bra and thong set from the brand Discreture. This 100% cotton set is soft, breathable, and seamless under a little dress or leggings and crop top. It matched my skin tone perfectly (how did they know to send me this collection? I consider it fate). It’s held up to multiple washes and wears and I’m excited to pick up more bras from Discreture. NOUX is a fast, easy, and impactful way to try new undergarments for all body types and fashion tastes for only 15 dollars a month. Keep your eyes on them this upcoming year since they will be rolling out new deals. Here are some current shopping codes they have so you can save:
