I went on Fall break last week and got lost upstate on open roads that led to somewhere unknown yet breathtaking. I had to bring along some staple sweaters from Oliver Charles and State Cashmere to keep me warm yet looking cool.
Easy to move in and always chic, for an all-black get-up I reach for black leggings and my State Cashmere The Ribbed Scoop-Neck Sweater. This simple V-neck sweater is made of 100% Inner Mongolian Cashmere and exudes luxury and warmth. I love its softness and durability to keep me cozy, whether in the car or climbing up mountains (and even going out to a ritzy dinner with friends). Besides this sweater imparting warm, fuzzy feelings, State Cashmere’s mission statement does too! They support the economic vitality of their shepherds in Inner Mongolia by directly buying from them. High quality and zero blends of their fabrics render their sweaters as sustainable for the environment, and ethical as well. I plan on grabbing a few more for the bitter cold of winter. For maintenance of this precious cashmere, I wash it in the sink with some baby soap and then line dry it to maintain its shape. I wash it every four to five wears, since cashmere is extremely breathable and doesn’t hold onto smells. What can I say, but that State Cashmere is putting me in a comfy state of mind!
For unseasonably warm days that switch up to cold in an instant I found the perfect top: Oliver Charles’ Summer Scoop Neck in the gray color. Breathable and light, this sweater is made of seaweed called SeaCell, so no micro-plastics getting into waterways and no odors getting trapped in the fabric. It is knit with 3-D technology and the SeaCell “offers natural vitamins and minerals of the seaweed that will soothe and protect you from harmful free radicals and damaging UV rays.” I wore this sweater while walking around small towns and meeting up with friends to press apples for juice. It moved with me throughout the activities and kept me cool without making me chilly (with or without a jacket). The SeaCell is great for sensitive skin, so any of my loved ones can borrow this sweater with no worries of irritation. Oliver Charles offers more heavy-duty sweaters in their line, which I’ll have to snag and report back ASAP. I have definitely found my staples for the cold seasons with State Cashmere and Oliver Charles.
