I am 99% certain that I am part seal. I could swim before I walk, and whenever I see a body of water my first thought is if I can jump in it. I’m more graceful in water than I am on land. While seals can swim around naked, I, in most places, can’t. So I’m always on the hunt for swimsuits that are not only cute, but won’t fall off or become uncomfortable while I frolic in the water.
My latest hunt led me to onewith, a swimsuit line designed to fit like underwear. Onewith was founded by Hayley Cannon (Segar). While packing for a trip to Miami, Hayley discovered that she had plenty of swimsuits that looked great on, but felt terrible on her body. She then had a Eureka moment: what if I could make a swimsuit that felt like my favorite underwear?
The first step in my onewith journey was to take the find your fit quiz. I learned that the best fit for me was the westerly top and compo bottom. When the bikini arrived, I followed the stretching directions, available on onewith’s Instagram. At first I was concerned that this would be a complicated process, but I just needed to give it a few tugs to ensure that the bottoms fit properly. Then I was off to the pool and the beach to try it out.
My onewith swimsuit is more comfortable than other swimsuits I’ve worn. I found it easier to move around in, and when I dove under waves it stayed in place. I’m not sure I would describe it as fitting exactly like underwear, as my suit was a little bigger than I’d have liked (I recommend ordering a size down from your normal size to alleviate this problem). On the plus size, I did feel cute and I received a lot of compliments! I also didn’t need to adjust the suit every five minutes, which was a welcome change from other swimsuits I’ve had. I am tempted now to try one of their one pieces to see how it feels.
