This past NYFW held up to glamour and glitz of the usual haut decree, showcasing the latest of the brilliant minds of veterans as well as the vibrant spirit of newcomers to the runway. Delighted as always, here are some of the highlights.
Malan Breton “Age of the Machine, The Heart of Humanity”
Known for his multi-talented background and bespoke tailoring, Taiwanese born Malan Breton took over the Léman Ballroom in New York City for another showstopping collection. This latest SS 2026 Collection, titled “The Age of The Machine, The Heart of Humanity”, was presented in four parts – The Heart, Time, Transformation and Legacy. Breton’s original musical compositions accompanied the collection, imbuing a sense of nostalgia melded with futuristic fascination. Models adorned with tinsel fringe dresses, satin bows, jeweled gowns and metallic suits graced the runway, intertwining through the audience pathways. Wigs crowned heads with chic bobs and pixie shags. Suits featured a beguiling combination of relaxed fit pants and jackets with structured pagoda shoulders.
Breton’s collection featured partnerships with Japanese watchmaker King Seiko, Wigs.com, hair stylist Vivienne Mackinder, and Alzheimer’s support non-profit CaringKind.
