Galactic Federation of Light (GFL) is a visionary apparel brand with a powerful, spiritual message and mission. Based in Los Angeles, the mission of the brand is to inspire unity and purpose through new age clothing that’s both comfortable and fashionable. It’s also a family affair. Founded in 2020 by Dotan Shoham with his daughters, Shani and Tevelle, GFL is all about illumination, consciousness, unity, love, and truth. The founders spoke with Beauty News NYC recently about their mission, focus and journey.
There’s such a deeper meaning to the brand. Can you speak to what brought you to your personal transformative journey?
Absolutely – there’s a deep, collective meaning behind the brand that’s rooted in our family’s journey. Together, we experienced a series of moments that called us to transform, both individually and as a unit. We were searching for something deeper—more purpose, more connection, and a way to live in alignment with our values.
Our journey involved diving into practices like meditation, spiritual exploration, and embracing personal growth. We faced challenges that shaped who we are today, learning to trust the process and remain open to change. Over time, these experiences brought us closer to each other and inspired a vision to share that awakening with others.
As a family, we wanted to build something that reflects this transformation — a brand that holds space for others on their own paths. With this new enlightenment so to speak, what brought you to wanting to introduce others to this idea of a higher consciousness?
With this new awareness, it became clear to us as a family that transformation is something meant to be shared. As we grew, we saw how powerful it was to connect with others who were also on their own paths of awakening. The idea of higher consciousness isn’t something exclusive – it’s a journey of self-discovery and alignment that everyone is capable of experiencing.
We felt called to create a space where people could find inspiration and empowerment. We wanted to design not just clothing but experiences and conversations that resonate on a deeper level. It’s about offering reminders that we are all connected, that life is full of meaning, and that each person has the potential to awaken to their true power.
Introducing others to this idea wasn’t just a business move for us, it was a mission rooted in a desire to contribute to the collective transformation. We believe that by embodying higher consciousness in our brand, we can inspire others to embrace their own growth and trust the flow of life.
Why did you decide that you wanted to create a fashion line that resonates with the message of transformation and higher consciousness?
As a family, we’ve always believed that what we wear is more than just clothing — it’s a form of self-expression, a way to embody who we are and what we stand for. After going through our own transformative journey, we realized how powerful it would be to create a fashion line that reflects those deeper values of growth, awakening, and higher consciousness.
Fashion has the unique ability to connect people and spark conversations. We wanted our pieces to carry intention—serving as reminders to trust your journey, embrace change, and stay aligned with your higher self. It wasn’t just about aesthetics; it was about offering something meaningful that resonates on a soul level.
Our goal was to design a brand that inspires transformation, not only within the wearer but also in the collective energy we create when we come together as a community. Each piece we create tells a story—of stepping into your truth, finding connection, and becoming your highest version.

It’s a family business, as your daughters are also involved. What is this like working with your family?
Working with my family has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. As a father, seeing my daughters not only grow into their own paths but also come together to build something meaningful is truly inspiring. We each bring our own unique strengths, ideas, and perspectives, which creates a powerful synergy in the way we run the business.
Of course, like any family business, there are moments of challenge, but those moments are opportunities for growth and deeper understanding. We share a common vision, rooted in our journey of transformation and higher consciousness, which keeps us grounded and aligned even when things get tough.
What makes it especially rewarding is that this work isn’t just a job for us – it’s a passion and a shared purpose. What is your advice for someone who might be looking for higher consciousness in their own life?
