For designer Celine Obone, fashion is a way of life. After years in the industry working as a stylist and in merchandising, the need for a perfect bustier led her to her true calling. After a fruitless search for a bustier that embodied delicacy and support, Obone realized there was a gap in the market. So, she designed the perfect wardrobe staple that is graceful, stylish, supportive, and can be paired with anything. The perfect bustier then led to the perfect brand and Belle Perle was born.
The brand embodies Obone’s pure passion and deep conviction to empower women to embrace their individual style and personality. Based in LA, Belle Perle stands for luxury, strength, and beauty; all things Obone embodies herself. With the launch of its Spring/Summer collection of luxury bustiers, the designer is excited to unveil fresh silhouettes and styles enriched with a vibrant color palette.
Obone spoke with Beauty News NYC about her brand and her mission and passion to embrace femininity and strength.
“The new collection stays true to Belle Perle’s DNA—a celebration of timeless femininity with a modern edge. For Spring/Summer, we introduced new silhouettes and textures that capture the freshness of spring, with bright hues that evoke the vibrancy of summer—just like a blooming garden,” she says.
Tell us who you design for. Who is the Belle Perle girl?
The Belle Perle woman is elegant, confident, and sexy. She has a deep appreciation for quality and craftsmanship. She loves to splurge on herself, enjoys luxury, and is fashion-forward with a taste for timeless pieces. She pays attention to detail and isn’t afraid to express her femininity — that’s her superpower.
You’ve been in different roles in the fashion industry. What is it like starting your own line and running your own company? What are the greatest challenges and rewards?
Starting your own line can be nerve-wracking…there are so many aspects that require both courage and vulnerability. Creating Belle Perle has been an intimate journey, from designing each piece in Los Angeles to perfecting it with Italian craftsmanship and high-quality materials. It’s a product and vision I believe in wholeheartedly and am incredibly proud of.
Belle Perle is a reflection of who I am, but also a creative space I want others to connect with. It means putting ideas out into the world that I hope will be understood, trusted, and loved. One of the biggest challenges has been finding fresh, impactful ways to communicate with and to reach my audience. It’s a constant process of problem-solving, whether it’s collaborating with manufacturers to execute the perfect product, or making sure my marketing team clearly shares the brand’s vision. The greatest reward is hearing how people feel when they wear Belle Perle. When customers tell me it looks and feels exactly as I intended, that validation is truly priceless.
Have you had an aha moment where you felt like you found your calling?
Belle Perle wasn’t created overnight – it came through setbacks and detours. But I found myself waking up every day filled with creative drive and energy, and it always felt natural. Even the challenges were met with optimism. I remember pausing at one point to reflect and realizing I had never once considered giving up. That perseverance made it clear I was in alignment with both my passion and my purpose. When you’re truly in your calling, it doesn’t feel forced – it flows. That’s the feeling that keeps me going.
What are your goals for the future of Belle Perle?
I want Belle Perle to be known first and foremost for luxury bustiers – a go-to brand that embodies confidence, elegance, and artistry. I want it to be trusted and cherished by a community of women who recognize and value both form and craftsmanship. My goal is to continue developing expressive, luxurious pieces that offer a flawless fit and empower the women who wear them. I envision Belle Perle as an exclusive label in high-end boutiques across the world, collaborating with other designers and expanding our global community — one luxurious bustier at a time.
