It’s almost time for NYC’s 265th St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Whether you are more of a parade-goer or a pub-crawler, festivities for the holiday will no doubt include Irish dancers, bagpipers, and a chance to partake in Irish cuisine. In addition to traditional favorites like Guinness, soda bread, and corned beef and cabbage, Kerrygold has another Irish treat in mind for you to enjoy this St. Patrick’s Day.
The Irish butter brand is helping revelers celebrate with crisp sandwiches. Margot Robbie and Dubliner Colin Farrell recently brought awareness to this snack while being interviewed on the TODAY Show. Apparently, Farrell made Robbie a “chippy sandwich,” as she calls them, daily during filming for “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey.” Luckily, you don’t have to star in a romantic drama to try one of these sandwiches.
Get in on the fun!
If you plan on celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in NYC, you can try a Kerrygold Crisp Sandwich right in the Lower East Side. On Tuesday, March 17, Kerrygold will be hosting a pop-up sandwich shop from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Wildair, 142 Orchard Street. Guests can stop by to grab a free crisp sandwich, and there will also be merch designed by Irish illustrator Hephee. Some guests (with the luck of the Irish, no doubt) will even win limited-edition T-shirts that will be given out each hour.
Have a taste of the Emerald Isle right at home.
To make a crisp sandwich at home, you only need to secure three ingredients: soft white bread, Tayto Cheese & Onion crisps (or your favorite potato chips!), and, of course, Kerrygold butter. Spread the Kerrygold butter on the two pieces of bread, pile the chips on one of the buttered slices, place the other slice on top, and smash the two slices of bread together to crush all the chips. Pour yourself a pint and enjoy your crisp sandwich!
Have a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day!
