My Olay Body Labs Experience

On Thursday, June 22nd, I attended the opening of a pop-up event in honor of the Olay Hyaluronic Body Care Regimen, and the entire evening was the perfect blend of beauty and science. Specifically, the event centered around Olay’s two highly acclaimed, dryness-destroying products, their Olay Cleansing & Nourishing Body Wash and Olay Nourishing & Hydrating Body Lotion, both packed with Vitamin B3 and Hyaluronic Acid. And Kate the Chemist was there to creatively illustrate how the science factors in, whether to stop dry skin in its tracks or heal skin already suffering from the consequences of dryness. The pop-up shop was located on 393 Broadway, and was appropriately dubbed “Olay Body Labs.” My mom and I eagerly took in the stunning space, cocktails in hand, admiring the level of detail, from the flowers framing the interior to the product displays, to the delectable hors d’oeuvres. It was all meticulously planned and executed. Hey Google, play “Mastermind” by Taylor Swift.

All guests were given boarding passes for the journey we were about to embark on, and separated into two groups. We were also supplied with four gold stickers to apply to our boarding pass at each stop along the way.

The guests of the night, Kate the Chemist, and Dr. Maiysha Jones, Principal Scientist, North America Personal Care at Procter and Gamble, made their welcome remarks. Highly emphasized was the legitimate data, supplied by Dr. Jones, and carefully reviewed by Kate the Chemist, that supports the merits of using Olay products, and in particular, their body wash and lotion containing key ingredients hyaluronic acid and vitamin B3, ensuring that dirt is removed from the skin but that moisture and nutrients are able to penetrate the pores.

The coolest part of the pop-up for me was getting the most fun, live science demonstration that I have ever witnessed by Kate the Chemist herself! I got to don an Olay-branded lab coat and goggles for the occasion and truly squealed in wonder as Kate engineered a colorful chemical reaction before our eyes so we can visualize the ways in which the ingredients in Olay’s body wash and lotion work together to help, not hurt our skin.

On our way out, we got nifty gift bags of the products of the night, themselves, along with an Olay makeup bag and journal. We even got to keep the lab coat and goggles. Hello, mad scientist Halloween costume!

Olay Body Labs Experience

As I took a Lyft home from my Olay Body Labs Experience, I couldn’t wait to shower in style, putting my newly acquired products to the test. And days after the event, I can safely say I am sold, having not gone a single night without the products enhancing my showers.

Olay Body Labs ExperienceOlay Cleansing & Nourishing Body Wash not only smells and feels luxurious on the skin, but its chemistry prioritizes moisture above all else, cleansing the skin of dirt while also penetrating ten layers of skin to hydrate effectively.

It is long-lasting, and just like its sister body wash, is programmed to provide moisture to the skin where needed. A plus is that you’ll smell like you left a spa after your shower!
