(Your) Rhode (to Clear) Skin

Mastering a skincare routine is no easy feat. There are too many products, ingredients, and formulas — it can be far too complicated to understand what will work best for you. As someone who has extremely sensitive skin and gets laser hair removal, I look for hydrating, barrier-repairing products that are (preferably) free of added fragrance and irritants. Rhode Skin, founded by Hailey Bieber and recently sold to e.l.f. Beauty, far exceeds those factors. I was thrilled when the Rhode team shared some of their most popular products with me — here is my official take on each.

Glazing Milk

The Rhode Glazing Milk went viral for all the right reasons. A lightweight, milky essence with just the right amount of creaminess, it’s perfect for the first step in a hydrating skin regimen. Like many Rhode products, it’s formulated with ceramides to strengthen the skin barrier and lock in hydration. It also has beta-glucan to calm irritation and hyaluronic acid to plump the skin — a dehydrated face’s dream to layer under your other products.

Packaging Note: Comes in a clean, recyclable bottle made from post-consumer recycled plastic. Functional and pretty — exactly what you want on your shelf.

Peptide Glazing Fluid

Continue the hydration journey with the Peptide Glazing Fluid. Like its name suggests, this is a gel-like serum that brings dewiness to the skin while reducing fine lines and wrinkles thanks to the anti-aging peptide Acetyl Hexapeptide-8. But the real star is niacinamide — which brightens, smooths texture, and helps control oil production.

Packaging Tip: It dispenses the perfect amount with a pump redesigned for ease and made with recycled materials.

Barrier Butter

Perhaps the most popular product from Rhode Skin is the Barrier Butter. This rich, intense cream is designed for deep hydration — best used overnight to assist skin repair. Personally, I use this as my after-shave — a game-changing choice. It contains a hyaluronic acid complex and polyglutamic acid to hydrate not just the surface of the skin, but the deeper layers as well. Have sensitive or reactive skin? The Barrier Butter has Bisabolol and Ginger Root Extract — anti-inflammatories that help reduce redness.

Packaging Highlight: Available in full and travel sizes, plus it’s dermatologist-tested and approved by the National Eczema Association.

If you’re going to pick up any Rhode product, I highly suggest this one.

Peptide Lip Treatment

Of course, all skincare routines must end with a trusted ‘lippie’. The award-winning Peptide Lip Treatment is rich in fatty acids and vitamins A, E, and D to support long-lasting hydration. While many lip products only hydrate momentarily, this one lasts — thanks to Babassu oil, which locks in moisture. If you prefer an unscented version like I do, that’s absolutely an option. And if you love a little flavor, there’s Vanilla, Salted Caramel, and even Watermelon. You truly can’t go wrong.

Packaging Bonus: The slanted tip makes application mess-free, and the tube fits perfectly into Rhode’s custom phone case — turning lip care into a lifestyle accessory. They even have a recycling program: send back three empties, get a free shipping label.

Pocket Blush

You didn’t think this was just about skincare, did you? I, of course, had to also try the ultra-popular Pocket Blush. As someone who suffers from blush blindness, I absolutely love that this product gives a natural flush while leaving the cheeks stunningly glowy. It currently comes in eleven shades, but I, naturally, had to choose the shade Piggy — a baby pink that is perfect for everyday makeup.

Each Rhode Skin product doesn’t just make your skin look good — it makes it feel good. The packaging is gentle on the planet and fits seamlessly into your routine. If you’re looking for that iconic glazed donut appearance, grab Rhode Skin on their official website, Amazon, or, in Fall 2025, Sephora!
