Ku’Panda Herbal Tea Skincare: Q & A with Founder Janae Peats

It is widely known that herbal tea has a myriad of proven health benefits, but did you know you can also apply it to your skin? Janae Peats, founder of Ku’Panda Skincare, cleverly blends plant-based botanicals with active ingredients that are scientifically proven to deliver visible results. The raw herbs used in Ku’Panda are sourced from all over the world and effectively infuse each product with incredible plant-based antioxidants that rejuvenate, plump, and hydrate the skin.
Beauty News NYC sat down with Peats to hear more about her innovative line.

Could you please tell our readers more about yourself and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Janae Peats, I’m the founder of Ku’Panda Skincare, an herbal tea infused skincare company based in Southern Arizona. Herbal Tea has been a huge source of relief for me over the last few years. I began taking Herbal Baths and using Clay Body Masks for relief during the pandemic. I also began formulating my own cosmetics and learning about cosmetic formulations. When I learned I could infuse the herbs in my products with Herbal Tea, it was a huge moment and I haven’t looked back since.

?What was your inspiration to start your own skincare line?
Beauty, specifically skincare, is the only thing I ever felt called to do. As a child I couldn’t quite articulate it, but I definitely always had this desire to take better care of myself and live a life where rest is normal. This desire has evolved into creating an accessible avenue for all to rest more and feel as beautiful as they are.

What is the meaning behind the Ku’Panda brand name?
Ku’Panda is Swahili for “to plant,” and this reflects our company’s philosophy, which is the belief that you can have any life you want, planted one seed at a time. The name also reflects our Ingredient Philosophy of “plants first.”

Do you have any top beauty tips?
Aside from sunscreen, I’d say to be patient as your skin recovers or is repairing itself. I know when our skin is not as we’d like it, that can really have an impact on us. However, by keeping a simple routine that hydrates 2x as much as it exfoliates, your skin will be able to repair itself much faster.
