Counter’s new Glow First Serum Primer presents like a crushed disco ball in a gorgeous glass vial. But go ahead and dispense two generous pumps of this hydrator, which is a tripeptide gel serum, after moisturizer and before makeup. And your glowosity will be witnessed by the gods and the stars and the heavens. The formula is packed with approximately 4,000 (!!!) suspended microdroplets of skin-loving ingredients that will hydrate, plump, and give you ALL of the glow. Dewy skin is always in and you will get your daily dose of luminosity. It’s the equivalent of a dopamine hit for your morning routine.

On the flip side, if you do not want to look like a glazed donut and prefer a matte finish when it comes to your makeup, especially in the sweltering summer heat, then you can and should rock Moira’s 16 HR Seal Mattifying Glue Primer. It serves two purposes effectively: a shine-free finish and your makeup doesn’t migrate. Packaged in a “shelfie” friendly and squeezable mint green tube with a tip for ease of application, it holds on tight to skin without feeling heavy, sticky, or tacky.. Apply a thin layer BEFORE makeup to banish shine and mattify skin, and to create a canvas for makeup to stay put. Which, as mentioned, is essential when it’s 95 degrees and humid. If you want a no-shine look, this primer is your new BFF.

We have yet another winner from Bobbi Brown’s Jones Road Beauty brand. The company can do no wrong with its high-performance easy-to-use, and neutrals focused products — do NOT snooze on the Miracle Balms – has just dropped the Lip Recharge line, which is marketed as a “glossy treatment balm.” Here’s the verdict: It’s one of the longest-wearing, most comfy wear lip glosses that I’ve ever used —and trust me, I’ve tried most, if not all, of them. It glides across and hugs lips comfortably. It’s also blessed with a perfect amount of sheer pigmentation. It really defies the odds because something this shiny should be very sticky and thus avoided on windy days unless you LIKE your hair adhering to your lips. But it’s not because Bobbi Brown engineers her products for maximum efficacy. Add in a slight and refreshing vanilla mint flavor, which boasts a light and never-overwhelming cooling effect and slanted metal applicator, and you’ve got one of my favorite lip products of the year so far. Bravo, Bobbi and JRB!

It’s not feasible to chow down on cake for breakfast every day but I feel like I am doing exactly that with Babe Original’s Birthday Cake Lip Mask. Not only does the square pot look super cute perched on the vanity in my powder room, thanks to the fact that it resembles an actual cupcake,, but it has a fresh-from-the-bakery-aroma and slight vanilla flavor. Every time I swipe on a coat or three, it plumps my lips in the most sumptuous way. It adds colorless moisture and I cannot stop applying and re-applying it throughout the day. This magic elixir keeps my lips as moist as an outta-the-oven slice of vanilla cake drizzled with melty buttercream icing. Sans the extra cals!
