One of my favorite self-care splurges is a professional blowout. There’s nothing quite like getting a blowout to make you feel more polished and put together. It’s one of those special treats I usually save for a big event.
I immediately jumped on the invitation to attend RPZL x Coalescence NYC’s New York Fashion Week Activation. I was excited to have a professional blowout, sip some cocktails, and meet other beauty and wellness vendors.
When I arrived, I was greeted by RPZL’s founder, Lisa Richards. RPZL is famous for its fast, polished blowouts and on-the-go hair extensions. RPZL’s high-quality hair extensions have been favored by celebrities like Gigi Hadid and Alix Earle. Richards has also brought other high-quality hair accessories into the salon to give clients more creative options for hair expression.
Coalescence NYC also operates from the same salon space. Stylists offer artistic hair consults, keratin treatments, nail care, and luxurious head spa add-ons. Coalescence NYC is known for its full-service approach to beauty and wellness.
Richards warmly welcomed me to the event and introduced me to my stylist, Mercedes Tedesco.
Richards and the stylists at RPZL and Coalescence NYC are very engaged with their customers. As I followed Lisa to the shampoo station, I noticed a pleasant buzz of energy. Stylists and clients were laughing, joking, and swapping stories.
My shampoo felt like a full spa treatment. The shampoo and conditioner doubled as aromatherapy. I felt like a totally new person after my scalp massage.
Mercedes was fun, hilarious, and knowledgeable about hair care. I had fun sipping my martini and hearing stories about her years in the hair industry. She also leveled up my blowout by adding some beachy mermaid waves.
I asked Mercedes to share her best tip for a healthy, long-lasting blowout.
“Always make sure the cuticle is dry and closed,” Mercedes said. Heat protectant, maintaining downward air flow on the dryer, and the coolshot button are the keys to closing your hair cuticle for optimal shine.
One of the coolest gifts I left with was a claw clip with my name engraved on it. A laser machine etched my name in the clip while I visited other vendors.
I also got to demo SWAN Beauty’s new Smart Mirror. This AI mirror scans your skin and makes personalized makeup and skincare recommendations based on your needs. It allows you to track your skin’s adjustment to new products to see if they’re beneficial for you. The SWAN Mirror allows you to watch makeup tutorials while using the mirror to apply your makeup. It’s a tool that lets you track your skincare changes and progress.
I also visited Oxalis Bliss and got to preview their new press-on nail designs. These non-toxic, press-on nails are available in short, medium, and long lengths with an impressive number of designs.
I left the event looking more polished and feeling glamorous. RPZL and Coalescence NYC’s Rockefeller Center location is the perfect place for a full-service, luxurious spa day.
