I have been searching for a new scent for fall and wanted something different; not the usual pumpkin spice or heavy amber. I needed a subtle fragrance that felt like me. My search, surprisingly, ended with a celebrity recommendation. I was watching a “What’s in MyBag” video with Danielle Fishel, who is currently competing on Dancing with the Stars and terribly underscored but we’ll save that for a different article.
Decades after Boy Meets World ended, I still find myself influenced by Topanga. While I’m not trying to dance just yet, I am following her lead when it comes to beauty products. Not only is her Be Free by Danielle Fishel haircare line phenomenal, but so is her taste in fragrance. She recommended Missing Person by Phlur and her endorsement sealed the deal. Yes, I ordered it immediately because the loyalty is real and it’s safe to say I’m influenced. Here’s why I love it:
PHLUR’s own copy for the fragrance is perfect. “If nude were a perfume, this is it.” That description is spot on. It is a delicate and genuinely addictive fragrance. It truly evokes the scent of something (or someone) comforting. It is warm, clean and profoundly familiar.
The fragrance is completely subtle with notes of white musk, jasmine and orange blossom. The top notes are Skin Musk, Bergamot Nectar and Sheer Jasmine; middle notes are Fresh Cyclamen, Neroli Blossom and Orange Flower and base notes of Sandalwood Australia Oil, Blonde Wood and White Musk. This is precisely why Missing Person is my ideal scent for the holidays.
The fall and winter months are often saturated with olfactory noise: baking spices, pine needles, crackling fires. I love those scents, but my personal fragrance should offer a quiet counterpoint.
