SATURN and The Great Let Go

The most distant planet visible to the naked eye, Saturn is distinguished by the large ring that circles its middle. Traditional ruler of Capricorn and Aquarius, Saturn is associated with authority, maturity, responsibility and structure. Saturn rules the skin and bones, parts of our bodies that give structure and shape to the whole. Called the Great Malefic, Lord of Karma, Dweller of the Threshold and The Keeper of the Keys of the Gate – Saturn is full of paradox and educates through pain. If you’re familiar with the fairytale Beauty and the Beast, Saturn is the Beast that cannot become the handsome prince until he is accepted in his wholeness. In astrology we use Saturn to articulate and assess not only some of the darker options available to human beings, but some of the hardest lessons and karmic knots. If you choose to read to the end and find your Saturn placement by zodiac sign, do not take was is written here as fate. The astro-insights provided are not meant to be proscriptive or deterministic. After all, not only do we each carry the energy of all twelve signs, within every sign there are at east twelve expressions of the energy of that sign, as well as a higher and lower expression. The analogies and archetypes presented are designed to help you get to the root of your pain, take responsibility as needed and access the self-awareness that enables one to move past the most debilitating of blocks and fears. This is the sacred task of Saturn.

As astrologer Liz Greene writes in Saturn: A New Look at An Old Devil, which I draw from heavily in the astro-insights to follow, “The acceptance of responsibility necessary for comprehension of Saturn is not the mea culpa which condemns.” Contrary to the Christianized version of astrology, Capricorn’s association with the Devil is not about finding the moral or spiritual high ground, but rather, accepting that the Devil, or demons – the Beast face of the handsome prince – is an indwelling creature of our own making. Satan, another iteration of Saturn, is a Lord of Death complete with the hoofs and horns of the Saturn-ruled Capricorn goat. The Sun, symbolic of one’s ego structure, is the opponent of Saturn in a natal chart. Representing two faces of the same basic principle, the Sun is our conscious personality (God) while Saturn is the shadow or unconscious personality (Satan). The Sun is exalted in the sign of Saturn’s fall and dignified in the sign of Saturn’s detriment. Saturn is exalted in the sign of the Sun’s fall. Similarly, Saturn is in his fall in Aries, while Aries’s ruler Mars is exalted in Saturn-ruled Capricorn; highlighting how the dance of Saturn (Capricorn/discipline) with Mars (Aries/instinct) ultimately have similar purposes. While Mars in Capricorn offers a smoother ride, both placements work the same in terms of forging a sense of personal will which is focused, directed and purposeful. Here we find that each of these opposite extremes collide as one and represent the same underlying principle. Individuals can play out the energies in their chart in many different ways, often overcompensating for one factor by going to the extreme of the polarity. Writes Greene,“The nature of this conflict between conscious and unconscious, dark and light, is neither good nor evil; it is necessary for growth because out of it comes eventual integration and greater consciousness.”

And here comes the greatest plot twist of all, not only is Saturn the hero’s villain, the princes’s beast and God’s devil – a matrifocal-informed view of Saturn reveals the Lord of Time underwent a sex change. Corresponding to the 4th/10th house polarity, that which astrology refers to as the axis of parent/child, work/play, public/private, professional/domestic. Ironically the 4th (roots/family) and the 10th (career/destiny) have been assigned to either mother, father or both, depending on who you ask. According to Greene, it is immaterial which house is associated with mother and which with father, as “Problems with one automatically create compensatory problems with the other.” Her work with countless clients suggests a correlation between a lack of a hospitable home environment and the development of extreme ambition. Greene informs that Saturn in the 10th not only magnifies life purpose, it is the stuff evil dictators are made of.  Hitler and Napoleon had Saturn in the 10th. Which is not to say that this placement entails one is destined to attempt world domination, but rather, that one may overcompensate for childhood wounds by attempting to gain ultimate control over one’s environment in defense of a fear around lack-of-control.

During the Hellenistic era, astrologer Dorotheus’s preeminent text Carmen Astrologicum coded Saturn as feminine, contrary to our popular understanding despite the fact that Capricorn and its element earth is feminine. Charlie Obert writes that with Saturn coded as feminine, a ‘Crone Goddess’ rather than the ‘Father of Time,’ we discover a perfect symmetry and 50/50 gender balance established between the personal planets. Thereby one luminary, one Benefic and one Malefic is assigned to each of the gender binaries while elusive, gender-fluid Mercury switches orientations according to its placement in the chart. In this framework, Obert names Venus-Moon-Saturn as the Maiden-Mother-Crone trinity of the zodiac representative of female life stages and Mar-Sun-Jupiter as the masculine equivalent. In Roman mythology, Saturn is the father of Jupiter, further reinforcing the masculine association. Shall we drop two thousand years of tradition that treats Saturn as masculine?

While the ‘Grim Reaper’ figure and death imagery we associate with Saturn is typically coded male, the other side of death (rebirth) is the emergence of a newfound compassion and wisdom of understanding attained as a direct result of life experience, and the greatest gift working with Saturn has to offer. It is not the pain that is central, but the spur to action no other force can so efficiently provoke. This capacity to hold space with wise awareness – the darkness in me accepts the darkness in you – births compassionate Mother energy, and is perhaps why some call Capricorn the most spiritual sign of all, originally emblematic of holding space and Saturn as Crone Goddess or Great Mother. And here we find that when we refuse to accept Saturn’s call – in defensiveness, in playing the victim, in blame, projection and externalizing the root of our failure – we also miss the larger liberation Saturn offers. Lest we forget that Saturn is not essentially a representative of pain, restriction and discipline, but a harbinger of a deeper psychic process which is a means of greater conscious fulfillment both natural and accessible to all beings. Liz Greene terms it “Realization of the inner experience of psychic completeness within the individual.”

As the ‘Great Malefic’ of planetary bodies, Saturn’s virtues are as dreary as can be: self-discipline, tact, thrift, caution. Meanwhile, he largely operates through the lens of fear. One often finds that, the painful circumstances leading to freedom of self-understanding are not due to any personal weakness or flaw on the part of the self, but simply happen (what we call karmic). The same goes for those ‘happy accidents’ we call luck and the retributions we attribute to sin. Even sickness is not outside the bounds of Saturnian learning – particularly when in Virgo/6th house – one finds that even illness can become a means of controlling loved ones or taking a backseat in life as a form of self-sabotage. Here it is actually our fear of life that blocks us from realizing our goal, but we are often comfortable blaming everyone but ourselves. Greene writes, “It is not enjoyment of pain which Saturn fosters, but rather exhilaration of psychological freedom. This is not often recognized because not many people have experienced it.” If we can move through the initial discomfort, the block or experience of thwarted self-expression, we can close the karmic cycle that began in a previous life. Here again I’ll emphasize the holistic vantage point the observation of cosmic cycles provides. It is not so much about fortune-telling as it is about understanding the importance each experience has for development of the self as a whole, and the soul growth over many lifetimes. Ultimately, there is no stimulus to growth more efficient than frustration. And then we have Saturn’s favorite channel, loneliness.

Culturally, we put great emphasis on the Saturn Return which happens around 29-30 years old. In his school of hard knocks this is in fact only round one of Saturn’s coaching. Corresponding with our Moon Sign/Mother/Roots our first Saturn Return usually complete by age 30 is a cycle of maturation which is about individuation, a breaking away from what we know and coming into who we are. This could show up as a crisis at work, in relationship, education or finance. As an opportunity to accelerate vibrations with growth, our Saturn Return optimally teases out a major lesson which is holding one back. Our second Saturn Return occurs around age 58-59, and is associated with our Sun Sign/Productivity/Ego/Maturity. Saturn being the planet which rules making structure and form in our Earthen lives, this second cycle, coinciding with the growth of our professional life, is about intense shadow work – a peeling away of the obstructions of the ego. This cycle corresponds to our great climb up the mountain of status and achievement, with many a test along the way to see if we are truly ready to meet our worldly power and authority with integrity. The goal is to realize that we are masters of our own reality and all is love. The third cycle occurs at age 87. Associated with our Ascendent, that which one is learning in this lifetime, this final Saturn Return offers an opportunity for total separation from trauma.

In her book Chiron: Rainbow Bridge Between the Outer and Inner Planets astrologer Barbara Hand Clow talks about how the major life cycles of Saturn (above), Uranus and the Chiron are gateways to Neptune – the planet of the collective unconscious, god, ecstasy, and the unconditional ‘higher octave’ of Venus (Love). ‘Wounded Healer’ asteroid Chiron is key to accessing heaven on earth in that orbiting between Saturn (time/death) and Uranus (kundalini/life), Chiron bridges the consciousness of the inner personal planets and the outer transpersonal planets.  Hand Clow names three major growth points – the Saturn Return at 29, Uranus opposition at 40, and the Chiron Return at 50 – as fundamental processes in terms of unlocking Chiron’s alchemy, or the gate to the philosopher’s stone. “At the time of each Saturn square or growth crisis, Uranus electrifies the calcified Saturn form and shocks us into new understandings about the molds we’ve carefully created…continually regenerates the nervous system with electrical shocks which keep us from solidifying into lifeless Saturnian lead,” writes Hand Clow. Similar to Saturn, Chiron transforms or causes death. When humans fail to bring eros – Uranian sexual life force – into Saturnian form (the body), the effect is often deadly, if not some socially-acceptable, habitual form of slow suicide. Optimally, these cyclical processes, if navigated effectively, initiate us into our work as sacred. If not, we find that the physical afflictions of Saturn (primarily effecting the lower three chakras) are slow killers. Hand Clow writes, “It is our cellular response to life itself, and if we manage to avoid the work of one of the transits, we begin death at that point.” Alchemy and astrology in this way offer keys of understanding the interchange of spirit and matter, also called the Law of Correspondences. As the saying goes, there is more to Earth than meets the eye. When we become subtle enough to understand Saturn’s irony, we find that she has a sense of humor after all, and that we too can make a friend of the Father of Time.

By now we know that Saturn is both Mother and Father, Time and Death, Growth and Decay, Limitation and Freedom. In reclaiming the profundity of psychic paradox Saturn represents, we develop a sense of the expanded symbolic system from which this planet comes, one which is neither good nor bad, nor forever mired in the historical trappings of race, gender, class and religion as we so perceive it to be here in the West. In Post-Colonial Astrology: Reading Planets through Capital, Power and Labor Alice Sparkly Kat speaks to Saturn as representative of the land, and a reality which precedes political power.

Sparkly Kat writes that features of Saturn rooted in indigenous agricultural gods, contrary to the revisions of Greco-Roman patriarchy, remind us that before advances in agriculture corporatized the food supply, “Farming was a gamble by humans against nature and the gods.” As Jupiter (Sky) wrestled power from Saturn (Earth), and astrology Christianized itself down to a state of two-dimensional flatness privileging Eurocentric masculinity, nature’s exquisite sovereignty was lost. With land ownership amongst modernizing Europe inflated in importance, “Landowner’s invented whiteness in order to create a buffer class so that white laborers aligned themselves with their exploiters and against their fellow laborers, in order to guard their white privilege,” writes Sparkly Kat. Not only do indigenous folks around the world fail to privatize land, many native languages lack a term for ‘nature,’ as to call it such is already an act of division. Usurping land taken from indigenous people in an American nation built on slave labor, today much of our understanding of Saturn emerges directly from the belly of the beast – the shadow of Saturn in Earth looking like compulsive ownership, land policies enacted by genocide, greed, hoarding, a succeeding at all costs type of avarice and the proverbial ‘the end justifies the means’ attitude towards material success.

Eclipsing older notions of the full cycle of life of which Saturn’s death-principle is one fundamental part, “Saturn, as death, became desolate,” writes Sparkly Kat. Particularly here in the West, we have lost our relationship to death in it’s Judeo-Christian association with evil, sin, hell, witches and others. We have lost our ability to grieve and perhaps more importantly to access regenerative solutions. In her full length book infusing our contemporary understanding of the planets with post-colonial theory, Alice Sparkly Cat highlights in the section on Saturn how the colonial project renders sovereignty, land rights and self-governance null and void at the same time securing “White dominance through time, property and notions of self.” Disavowal of our human understanding that we are nature – intricately connected to the Earth and all other living beings – afforded the modern conflation of Saturn with white supremacy’s notions of property, belonging and citizenship.

Which leads us to an acknowledgment that Saturn is not merely the planetary ruler of Capricorn, but it’s following sign, Aquarius as well. If the fact that the Father of Time is really Mother isn’t already a sizable mind-bender enough, Saturn is the lesser known co-ruler of Aquarius – the sign of revolution and Power to the People!  While Saturn’s influence, at surface level, appears to make Capricorns the meticulous planners and hard workers capable of enduring achievement and success; Saturn’s influence on Aquarians offers another great paradox, especial when we consider that each sign corrects the excesses of the previous. Saturn’s influence on Aquarius (sign of the rebel, maverick, wizard and freak) adds structure and responsibility to Aquarians’ future-forward stance. Meanwhile Uranus, the sign’s co-ruler, fuels Aquarian rebellion and eccentricity. If you happen to be a fan of Saturn Girl, a DC Comics superheroine, perhaps Saturn’s heterogeneous quality comes as no surprise.  A talented telepath from the 30th century and founding member of the Legion of Super-Heroes, Saturn Girl aka Imra Ardeen is named as such because she was born on Saturn’s largest moon.

The swinging pendulum of Saturnian law is perhaps best understood under the auspices of the pagan celebration Saturnalia, a festival occurring the week leading up to Christmas honoring Saturn.  A celebration of chance and the relationship between chaos and organization, during Saturnalias of old, Kings provided table service to their slaves while a carnival-like atmosphere overturned prohibitions against vices like gambling and other social norms. What poets called the ‘Best of Days,’ Saturnalia was a time in which liberty was had by all. A ‘King of Misrule’ was temporarily appointment to oversee the ferocious merrymaking. Interesting to note that the traditional image of Saturn as aged figure in a cape holding a scythe, emblematic image for death – doubles as a symbol of the Great Goddess and harvest, of ‘seed-sowing.’ The scythe as reaping blade forms the basis of the ‘crescent below the cross’ glyph used for Saturn. The base material of alchemy, in which lays the possibility of gold, was called Saturn, a term interchangeable with the alchemist herself. In the cross-bar added to Saturn’s glyph in the 16th century we find an indicating of an abbreviation for ??, representing Cronus. As the alchemical symbol for lead, it reminds us that Saturn is about a slow, alchemical process. And you know what they say about an alchemist that craves gold, that she has failed before she has even begun.

In a natal chart, Saturn Illuminates both our highest potential and leap of faith. With Saturn representing not just parents but ‘authority figures’ of all kinds, one of the most important principles of Saturn to understand is the distinction between internal and external values. As astrologer Kaypacha informs, where Saturn falls in one’s chart we have likely been over influenced by and adapted to external authority figures, thereby suffering from a misaligned truth. If Saturn were to aspect one’s Sun/Moon/Ascendent, one may develop a Saturn-complex. This could show up as having a strong parental figure one must rebel against, or perhaps its confrontation with the law itself. Maybe judgment has been laid upon you. Maybe you did everything just as you were told and it just didn’t work out. Here it becomes easy to project our roadblocks in life outside of ourselves, as they often appear to be. Ultimately, it is a reflection of our own fear, our own lack of inner authority, our knee-jerk reaction to judge ourselves by standards and rules we didn’t create or consent to. Eventually it becomes necessary to own our own power and know and embody our own truth.

If you were to have a a Sun-Saturn conjunction like me, one is cautious and careful, advancing in life slowly, through much effort and persistence. While acceptance of responsibilities, leading an ordered life, applying caution and self-control comes naturally; it is incredibly difficult to let go, be spontaneous or playful. Sun-Saturn aspects create complex relationships with authority figures and a dark sense of humor. Not one to take foolish risks, one’s childhood may have felt heavy with expectations. While Saturn – a late bloomer – rewards hard work, one must overcome shyness, depression, self-denial and isolation or risk missed opportunities. If one were to have Saturn in any of the three Earth signs, one must come to recognize the physical world as a garment or symbol of the tasks of the inner spirit. Money, associated with the earth element, must be recognized as a source of emotional independence or dependence. If one were to have Saturn in Air, one must overcome the difficulties of logic and intellect which bare down on us with their impossible and sterile guise of what is considered the apex of normality. We cannot think our way out of our pain (Saturn in Air) just as we cannot merely cry our way out of our misery (Saturn in Water).

According to Kaypacha, the best way to breakout of a royal Saturn complex is to “Not do anything else but what you LOVE to do. It is to follow the path of heart, bliss.” When we deny our false external conditioning and take on the responsibility for the reality we are experiencing, we are granted a higher position of authority over life itself. In his book How to be an Adult in Relationships: The Five Keys to Mindful Loving David Richo utilizes the metaphor of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz to explain the same principle. When Dorothy pulls back the curtain to find the wizard it is her disappointment which frees her from illusion, projection and expectation.  What she ultimately finds is that, she can depend only on her own magic – clicking her heels together she can access her innate power. Often “Seeing someone’s ‘clay feet’ can teach us a lot more than ‘sitting at someone’s feet,’” writes Richo.

While the Saturn Rx below offers insights one can apply to their personal evolution of Saturn according to its placement at birth, before we get there, let’s look at Saturn’s current placement and the impact that has on the collective. Saturn, the wise elder, is currently in Pisces, taking center stage as a powerful force of spiritual reckoning. Kaypacha calls Saturn in Pisces ‘The Great Let Go’ completing a larger 28-year cycle closing out March 2026. As the culminating sign of the zodiac representing death, dissolution, spiritual ecstasy, seclusion, solitude and release into the abyss of the collective unconscious, at this time all of our known structures of security are falling apart. Saturn in Pisces is not a time for ‘business as usual.’ With the Wise Crone Goddess in the sign of the mystic and martyr – we are called to collectively rethink our relationship to death, land, duty, wisdom. As the Lord of Karma, responsibility and discipline – Saturn in mutable water may involve collective blockages at the level of feeling. Psychic energy which would ordinarily seek release through emotional expression must find another channel – frequently through the physical body or through global political events. In the sign of the fish, Saturn displays both her greatest emotional ambiguity and suffering. With the consensus reality still very much polarized in our approach to the feeling nature, Saturn in water is also responsible for a great deal of the loneliness, isolation and despair so apparent at this present time.

Astrologer Molly McCord says Saturn in Pisces is about tapping into all the aspects of ourselves we haven’t been taught to rely on – intuition, body consciousness and the inner wisdom afforded when we experience mind/body marriage achieved by esoteric teachings such as yoga. If we let spirituality be our GPS, Saturn in Pisces presents opportunities to put wisdom into action. McCord urges us to close our eyes, turn inward and listen to the unexpected messages and energies speaking to us which have a bigger story to tell. “Saturn just wants us to do it well, and Saturn in Pisces is reminding us what we are letting go of, what we no longer need, what is clouding our view as we move forward in actualizing our goals and dreams,” says Molly. Other astrologers have said that the influence of Saturn in Pisces and Pluto in Aquarius signals the end of celebrity and the building of a new and more egalitarian social order. Perhaps this is best evidenced in the “Blockout” or “digital guillotine,” movement online which began in 2024. Many have blocked and unfollowed famous influencers, particularly those which have failed to use their massive platforms to speak out against the genocide happening in Palestine fueled, in part, by American tax-dollars. Multiple sources claim that folks like Kim Kardashian, Beyoncé and Taylor Swift have subsequently lost thousands of followers. As the Lord of Karma dwells in the threshold of the burgeoning soul, we are collectively orienting around a new spiritual north star, sharing and articulating practical measures as a result of recognizing we are all one.

Saturn in Aries *Indomitable Spirit*

Celebrity Doppelgänger: Lucy Liu

Independent, Careful, Reserved, Disciplined, Resourceful, Persistent, Productive, Focused and Headstrong. Virtually unstoppable with the potential to become a leader in your circle. When leadership feels challenging, struggles with self-assertion afford  key life lessons. With Aries initiative guiding Saturn’s actions, there’s a strong potential for success in creating tangible, lasting results. When setbacks occur, perseverance is key to unlocking full potential. Valuable (albeit sometimes painful) experiences along the way provide catalyzing moments of integration and growth. As one comes to embrace Saturn’s lessons, one begins to build a strong foundation for the future. Aries being the most impulsive sign of the zodiac, Saturn here calls for caution – a more careful and methodical approach to life. Avoid the chaos that comes from making hasty decisions. Paradoxically, sometimes one reaps the biggest rewards in the practice of taking risks! Don’t play it so safe you anticipate failure at every turn. Learn to balance action with responsibility, innovation with structure and courage with discipline.

With Saturn in Aries, one experiences a loss of contact with the center of the ego and its essential significance in the broader context of life. Self-centeredness may be a by-product of one’s frustrated search for purpose. Too little ego could temporarily rob this individual of confidence in life, a loss masked by exaggerated self-importance. Saturn in fire can amount to a type of ‘spiritual constipation’ blocking spontaneity and self-expression, vitality and purposeful activity. Caution around a hardening of and over-identification with one’s mask, with a consequent inner volatility of mood concurrent with the suffocation of self. Saturn in Aries is in fall, meaning in this sign Saturn struggles more and generates a greater wisdom because of it. Highly adaptable, one learns to see beauty in failure. Change is a duty which requires the giving up of options and the stripping away of non-essentials.  In the process, be careful not to let grieving become a lifelong pursuit.

Perhaps one learned from childhood that it is costly to get too involved with life, and subsequently much energy is spent on self-protection. High in suspicion, low in self-confidence – withdrawal from the roots of psychic existence breeds lifelessness. Stripped of the Arien’s natural courage and confidence required to tackle problems head-on, what one craves most is the joy of adventure, of being first. One must recover the hard-won courage needed to meet life’s unknowns, ultimately realizing that existence is guarantee enough of purpose. There is a tug-of-war between the desire to experience life to the fullest and a fear of being hurt, dominated, squashed by hostile forces. One might have no ‘temper’ to speak of, rarely displaying anger, meanwhile the natural tendency toward irritability is turned against oneself, perhaps showing up as headaches or inflammation. Do not mistake self-effacement for humility, what one needs is to enter the fight as if it were without consequence, to play the fool so to speak. One may put great emphasis on being ‘unselfish’ without ever cultivating a self to giveaway. If one does not ask for what one wants, one does not deserve a reply, and should not blame the Great Malefic nor others for thwarting one’s desires. Perhaps one is afraid of one’s own will,  and finds it easier to project it unto others, whom one calls ‘selfish.’ One might aggressively overcompensate by rushing into life as if it were a great battle, seizing control by sheer force if not subtle calculation. Optimally, from much frustration and confusion blossoms control over the desire nature and the shaping of personality into a disciplined tool. Right use of will grows in proportion to one’s self-knowledge and self-mastery.

Saturn in Taurus *Money Ain’t Everything*

Celebrity Doppelgänger: Jaden Smith

Blessed with the stamina and patience needed to persevere and achieve goals, just make sure one’s sense of stability isn’t rooted in lack. Valuing tangible results, one may feel uneasy with the abstract, especially when it comes to material wellbeing. Triggered tremendously by irresponsibility and instability, this Saturn placement can make one bound to set routines and beliefs based in scarcity-mentality. Saturn is disciplined, while Taurus is tenacious, making one as hardworking and dependable as they come! Not one to dabble or rely on quick fixes. Building a nest egg to feel secure overtime is a driving force. Face any fears around material existence and self-worth. Understanding that true satisfaction doesn’t necessarily result from wealth or material success is a crucial life lesson. Ask yourself, are you accepting values simply because society deems them good? A self-made native with this placement is often so frightened of losing what one has they are not fully able to enjoy it. One may be terrified of loss, perhaps even attracting it through bad judgment. One might subconsciously feel frightened of the responsibility of ownership, clinging to an imagined pain and fear of loss, compulsively acquiring more and more material possessions as result. One may have been financially comfortable as a child while lacking any sense of inner values and self-worth. One may ‘sellout’ for security, or harshly judge everyone according to their net worth/status. To an unconscious person with this placement, avarice and greed are common. On the contrary, another expression looks outwardly opposite but inwardly same. One may alternatively lean heavily on others financially, while espousing a spiteful ‘eat the rich’ mentality, calling money the root of all evil. Failing to see one’s benefactors as they are – dramatic feelings of hatred are merely a reflection of one’s own (unclaimed) negative qualities.

Saturn’s sacred task is to focus on what money can do, rather than the impression it makes on the world. Become humble, grounded and unaffected by celebrity or social status. Relatable no matter one’s level of success, this native is responsible, trustworthy and committed. With a focus on gratitude and reclaiming your innermost sense of worthiness, Saturn in Venus-ruled Taurus ultimately grows into a formidable force of peace, belonging and goodwill. Earthy signs are custodians of myriad layers of meaning. Plunging into the labyrinth, one must learn that Taurus – the sign of wealth and earned income – has very little to do with material possessions at all.  The wisdom pearl of great price lies at the heart of the individual, wherein one must not only establish worthiness, but forge a compass of unalterable values whose definition cannot be simply articulated but whose reality is as unquestionable as dirt.

Saturn in Gemini *Technology – Lifeblood or War Zone?*

Celebrity Doppelgänger: Sung Kang of ‘Fast & Furious’

Saturn in Gemini tends to be logical, excelling at problem-solving and practical solutions.  Your mind is your greatest asset – and greatest challenge! Keen ability to articulate information, solve problems and handle details. With a mind that often overpowers the heart, one prefers facts over feelings. Confidence in a data-driven world is strong, self-confidence however may be sorely lacking. Struggling with self-doubt, one may become unfocused or indecisive as a result. As a child one may have developed a stammer or stuttered, one’s silences mistaken for lack of intelligence. There could be real difficulty in sharing one’s innermost thoughts, or engaging in ‘small talk’ as a symbolic gesture of one’s common humanity. While undeniably endowed with unusual mental gifts, one could feel censored or blocked in the realm of communication, only later to develop into a skilled orator, MC or writer. Learning karmic lessons around past actions, one may feel the weight of negative educational experiences, media addiction or petty squabbles with siblings. Dwelling on doubt only serves the fear blocking the way forward. One may struggle in school or fail to keep a job long-term. Nonetheless, experimentation and trying multiple paths proves an effective and rewarding method of learning. Misunderstandings force one to step back and consider how (or if) one is getting the message across. When communication breaks down, one learns how to be more careful and clear in the future. Zero in on where intention meets pact. Consider that glitches, misread messages and incorrect or unresearched data is Saturn forcing one to rethink how one shares and receives information. Spending so much screen-time one’s presence is lacking? Missing the emotional cues of speaking face-to-face? Saturn has a tendency to draw the curtains on anything intangible. Keep the hope and faith alive to maintain balance within – recalling that some info is only accessed by way of the soul and subconscious.

Of all the kingdoms of nature only man aspires to intellectual creativity. The higher ground of Saturn in Air is a sense of detached enlightenment rarely achieved by humans. Failing that, one may fall back on a certain coldness rooted in fear or attempt to maintain a rigid control of the feeling nature based on terror of its potency. Saturn could block one’s natural rhythm of breathing in and out; with frequent flights of the mind making the body freeze up. Saturn’s influence in Gemini can produce diseases of the lungs, particularly asthma, an illness with a strongly psychosomatic component. Illness could likewise be used as a means of avoiding life when confronted with new experiences. It is not the conscious personality which retreats but the forces of the unconscious, which could resort to self-destruction under exceptional conditions. Knowledge must be acquired through experience and personal observation, as if the ultimate classroom were life itself.

Saturn in Cancer *As Caring as they Come*

Celebrity Doppelgänger: Melissa Joan Hart

Saturn in Cancer teaches the importance of protection and stamina with a focus on emotional expression, family and relationship building. Emotional fluctuations may have one swinging between being totally consumed by feeling to overly defensive and closed off. Life lessons around the ethical boundaries of empathy, cultivating self-respect and putting in the work to achieve hopes and dreams. With superior survival instincts, maneuvering out of difficult situations is a strength. Find the opportunity that emerges after each period of loss or travail. A deep need for safety means no matter how much one saves up – it never quite feels like enough. Conquering scarcity mentality builds self-confidence and a sense of enduring security. Build trust in relationships over time, particularly during periods of Saturn retrograde. Use caution when experiencing the urge to pass on professional opportunities in order to look after the Homefront. Finding a healthy family/career balance is key. May gravitate toward a career in nursing, real estate, culinary arts or mental health.

Perhaps one experiences a profound Mother or Father wound, feeling devoid of parental nourishment, or longing for one’s true ‘Motherland.’ Lack of physical or emotional nurturing in childhood can lead to health problems. Hypersensitivity, inhibition and emotional insecurities need to be overcome. Highly influenced by home environment, uncovering old fears and facing them retroactively helps. Saturn in Cancer suggests conditions of coldness, limitation, authority without love, separation or isolation, an unsympathetic early home life. Isolation may function symbolically whereby parental figures are physically present but can offer no love, sympathy, or emotional support. Maybe the parents are culprits of an excessive emotional patterning which capsizes the peace of family life. Maybe one’s caretakers placed undue emphasis on material development at the expense of emotional freedom. Commonly, the natural expression of feeling which seeks to find unity with family and a sense of heritage is blocked. Whether one loves or hates the family of origin, indifference is hard won.  More often then not, some form of lopsided attachment is formed in compensation for one’s feeling of having been unloved, unwanted, unseen. One may experience a great deal of melancholia, focusing on the past, reliving emotional turbulences over and over. As an adult, one may feel a bit needy or dependent. Self-acceptance affords a huge step towards a better life.

Emotional blockages offer pivotal opportunities for growth. Saturn in water is cloudy in the sense that most individuals are a stranger to the unconscious emotional frustration motivating their actions. An objective viewpoint is needed to help guide one through the labyrinth of sentiment, what operates like a great moving subterranean river beneath the surface of one’s personality. Some natives with Saturn in Cancer develop a compulsion to accumulate land – reducing their need for emotional security to a physical fact, and yet this won’t satisfy emotional needs. The opportunity Saturn offers is for the native to build an inner sense of security and self-acceptance based on an understanding of origin and belonging that is beyond the tangible, historical and familial. From this inner strength blossoms an inviolable possession of the soul. As the field of expression expands, a profound and lasting sense of emotional security is not only achieved, but passed down to loved ones for generations to come.

Saturn in Leo *Dance like Everybody’s Watching*

Celebrity Doppelgänger: Black Panther Star Danai Gurira

The planet of limits in the sign of the Rockstar? When cold Saturn meets hot Leo, one experiences important life lessons around creativity, self-expression and the demands we make of others. Saturn enters detriment in Leo, feeling at odds with the Lion’s sunny character. Modest and process-driven, don’t let perfectionism, stage fright or self-criticism stall progress. With restriction and suppression being Saturn’s signature, notice where you are holding yourself back. Are you dating the ‘nice guy’ when you really love the peacock? Have you dodged the limelight for years only to realize you have innate star power like David Bowie, also Saturn in Leo? Birthing masterpieces comes easily once you truly learn to fan your own feathers and pop out. Powerful, Persuasive, Disciplined, Intense, Superior, Guarded, Strong, Prideful & Composed. In maturity, one grows to channel creativity in healthy ways to become a ‘master of play,’ possibly even one who ‘Grows young with age.’

Saturn in Leo is connected with the understanding of creativity and sense of purposeful love. Expressing through Leo, Saturn intuits his wholeness through reflecting upon the creative act. Maybe you were born full of unique ideas, but run into trouble when you try to express them. Maybe it’s fear which makes you too vulnerable to put your creativity out there for all to judge. While you may naturally fall into the role of ‘commander’ or ‘disciplinarian,’ true power comes with learning how to let down your guard, and others respect you more for it. The more you lead with heart, the better response you’ll get, the more confident you’ll feel. While your creative discipline is a gift, learn to incorporate serious play. When you look only at the outcome, you have already blocked the outpouring of creative energies. In the act of creation one has the opportunity to intuitively catch oneself being oneself. Different than self-centeredness, this is about a direct encounter with God consciousness – the artist’s quest for immortality as a meditation on the deeper significance of the creative impulse. In the end, one’s creativity must feed the presence of the immortal soul, it is not for one’s audience, although they may be privy to the process of alchemical transmutation.

One must first look deeply at the contents of the shadow side not permitted into consciousness. Maybe one has received little acknowledgment for one’s gifts, and cannot easily understand oneself as a result. Maybe one feels like the unloved child, swallowed up in the trappings of what passes for parent-child love, never to have emerged fully self-expressed and free. As an adult, one may surveil oneself to a suffocating degree – still failing to perceive one’s own importance, covering up extreme vulnerability with a veneer of resentment and callousness. One both overrates and underrates oneself, rarely possessing any clear perception of the self. A placement associated with the arts and entertainment, one may work very hard at never taking life seriously, and like a clown or jester to the King, feel like an epic failure. One may be driven by a desperate need to feel important, admired, envied, popular – making ever a more strenuous effort at skill, superiority and dazzle – while all the while feeling only more spent, lonely and forgotten.  Release feelings of inferiority, release compare and despair. Behind the heartbreak often associated with this placement is an inherent lack of self-love. Find that glowing inner center that gives life potent meaning, or risk forever calcifying a formidable heart of stone. Once one is truly free of dependence on others’ recognition – spontaneous joy, vitality and raw honesty of the unabashed self roars to life! The process is a conscious one and is not about regression. Embarking on a journey in discovery of the self, that inner treasure hardest to obtain, become like the jewel guarded by the dragon of fairytales.

Saturn in Virgo *Order meet Chaos*

Celebrity Doppelgänger: Kourtney Kardashian

Symbolizing purity, service and humility, Saturn in Virgo represents the harvest or ‘wind down’ point of the seasonal arc. Virgo governing the digestive tract, health of our cells, nervous system and mental capacity – stress management is crucial. Virgo refers to a process of inner synthesis, purification, ordering or gestation which precedes objective personhood in the world of others. One may be drawn to alternative medicine; embarking on an odyssey to wholeness through nature immersion, perhaps becoming a healer or health professional along the way. Whether learning about nutrition, supplementation or energy medicine – embracing mutable Earth’s healing power and fully embodying one’s soul is the ultimate expression of this placement.

Healing the body is a lifelong pursuit. Perhaps in youth one faced many health challenges, suffering inappropriate diagnoses or developing an anxiety-driven obsession with pure food. Commonly associated with ill health as well as a fascination with the laws of health, one might be the individual who completely dominates the household through the demands of an illness. Once one has healed, one can guide others. Work becomes not only a means of livelihood, but a ritual of collective purification. Study of Herbalism or medicine aligns with Virgo’s attention to detail and proclivity toward self-improvement. Just don’t become a self-help junkie, hypochondriac, perfectionist or control freak. Carefully explore one’s relationship with order and chaos. Channel analytical abilities through disciplined action, embracing imperfection and selfless service as the highest path of awareness. For Saturn in Virgo, work is not separate from life – it is life. One may have a hard time ‘winding down,’ but it is nonetheless imperative to find healthy ways to relax and let go. One’s passions need not narrow one’s world. If you’ve outgrown certain duties, it’s worth the disruption and angst to move on. Face any fear of change and release insecurities holding one back.

Virgo’s association with Virgin Goddesses of old reflects a primordial understanding of the word ‘Virgin’ to mean whole, single, unpossessed servant of no husband or lover. The Virgin Mother Goddess embodied independence being self-contained, integrated and highly knowledgeable with respect to plant medicines and alchemy. With Saturn here, one must reflect upon the subtle but unquestionable link between one’s state of mind – including the feeling nature – and one’s health. Science confirms that what we experiences as physical illness has deeper psychological components. Saturn provides an opportunity – often through frustration, disappointment and ill health (Virgo is the sign of pain!) – for many a revelation at the intersection of mind-body. The reward? Greater vitality and a fresh awareness of the interweaving of spirit and matter. If integration is incomplete, chaos barks perpetually at the doors of the psyche. Perhaps one exaggerates the natural inclination toward work, routine and order until it becomes like a cage. One may experience overwhelming anxiety, physical or mental dysregulation. A confrontation with the shadowy side of one’s nature, which forever seeks to avoid responsibility to the life of the group, is necessary. Humility of a genuine kind simply cannot be exchanged for the subservience often expressed with this placement, Virgo also being the sign of the slave, student and apprentice. The unconscious native with Saturn in Virgo being like the gardener who loves only the flower – the final result of the process of growth – lacking understanding and deep trust in the cycle. Ultimately, like a seasoned global steward,  service of the highest order is the result of a carefully calibrated inner attunement only Saturn in Virgo can attain.

Saturn Rx: Gluten Free Maple Vanilla Granola

Forever working back to a purified, whole-unto-oneself state, Saturn in Virgo succeeds at the tedium of holistic nutrition as bodily purification. With crystal clear awareness, one can zero in on and correct the tiny flaws and inefficiencies in any system. Gone are the days when we downed chemically frosted pop-tarts like hungry hippos and made fun of Earth-lovers with the adjective ‘granola.’ Leave unflattering belly bloat behind this new year by starting your morning off right with a gluten-free breakfast alternative you can buy bulk online. Conscious Saturn in Virgo folks will savor this whole food mix of healthy rolled oats enhanced with honey, real maple syrup, pure vanilla extract, natural vitamin E, cinnamon, sea salt and pure love. Brought to you by the Mom-run small business Jessica’s Natural Foods, all products are not only certified gluten-free, but made without the rice flour and refined starch common to other competing brands. Necessity is the Mother of invention, and before becoming a popular retailer that ships nationwide, the brand’s founder was an avid baker with a background in engineering.  What began as a passion for natural foods and kitchen science, Jessica’s Natural Foods took off when she began to experiment with raw oats in response to her husband’s gluten-intolerance. And they offer an impressive array of wholesome granolas as well as gluten-free flour and mixes made with nutrient-dense ancient grain teff, healthy oat and omega-rich flax.

Saturn in Libra *Highly Esteemed or Self-Effacing?*

Celebrity Doppelgänger: Beyonce

Cultivated, Equitable, Esteemed, Honorable & Perceptive: Saturn is exalted in Libra! Refined and intellectual, one is a natural diplomat with superb tact. Cooperative rather than competitive, rarely over-emotional. Are your personal relationships serving or holding you back? Do you feel inspired and supported, or are you putting forth all the effort? Focus on communication skills were balance is lacking. Avoid becoming dead set on a particular outcome – or falling back on shadow traits like insecurity, loneliness or self-effacing fear of chaos. Tireless in serving others, one could be a force in the Arts. Alternatively, maybe one’s innate sense of justice guides this native to excel in activism, law or politics. Either way, one puts in character-building effort to bring beauty and harmony to this world. The more receptive, reliable, tactful and organized one becomes, the more status and success achieved. Endurance, flexibility and patience is your secret sauce.

In Libra, Saturn feels open to serious collaboration. Expect big sobering lessons in life around practicality, balance and justice. With a high level of maturity and commitment, stability in relationships is serious business. Marriage is successful to the degree that one puts in the work. When you truly commit, love is enduring. Caution around any ‘inferiority complex’ in relationships. Rejection is God’s protection! Drawn to mentor types, one may take up with someone older and wiser. Lessons gleaned from pairing up and becoming part of a duo have an anchoring effect. Thrives in partnerships, whether romantic, platonic or financial. And herein lies the Saturnian shadow, the basic psychological mechanism of projection of the unconscious – intimately connected to the qualities sought in an ‘ideal’ partner. Patterns of hurt and rejection are common with Saturn in Libra. One seeks in others what one is not able to express consciously. Until inner wholeness is achieved, the ‘perfect match’ will only end in what appears to be another tireless, cynical charade. One may sacrifice love for safety and call it ‘duty.’ One may overcompensate, anticipating another abandonment, play the Don Juan figure, irregardless of gender. Giving the impression of being hard and unfeeling, when it is merely a performance masking a morbidly sensitive core.

The goal with Saturn in Libra is an inner integration which results in a new center for the psyche. Sorrow, difficulty and constriction experienced in relationship is a direct result of one’s own inner needs and conflicts projected outward. Make sure not to turn a deaf ear to the subliminal signals of one’s environment, as initial intuitive realizations about a partner, however contradictory they are to our ‘ideal,’ should not be underestimated. Consider that one’s chosen partner is actually a reflection of one’s own slow burning inner conflict, the consistent threads of which block real union on all levels until resolved. Relationships formed with a Saturnian influence are often ‘safe’ in that the partner is somehow dependent, weak, needful or unable to form any kind of threat or support to the individual. A clever mechanism for avoiding the effort and responsibility of fully conscious union, Saturn in Libra must be careful not to project one’s own unavailability unto the other. Given the inner hell of loneliness which is often the companion of Saturn’s signature distortions, the life partner is either a source of suffering or a great opportunity for mutual growth. First and foremost, an inner marriage is key. The opportunity Saturn offers is a call to understand the deeper levels of union, leading to the type of evolved, conscious partnership which is a result of the choice and freedom of two equals.

Nobody excels at the high art of beauty and balance like Saturn in Libra, the ‘Face that Launched a Thousand Ships.’ With Saturn in the sign of marriage and partnership, eventually, one finds that the ultimate ‘sacred union’ is not based in the artificial trappings of appearance, financial status, emotional dependency and social pressure – which carries with it the inevitable seeds of failure. Saturn in Scorpio *The Power of Conscious Sexuality*

Celebrity Doppelgänger: Madonna

Saturn in Scorpio brings to light what has been hidden or repressed. Curious about the dark side from a young age, one willingly faces fears, diving into the depths to uncover what has value and meaning. Power flows through you – and it’s amplified as you merge with others. One is here to help others access and renew their inner power. As a child one might have gotten the message that one was ‘too intense’ and developed a habit of hiding. At its extreme, Saturn in Scorpio is associated with childhood sexual abuse, if not in the immediate family, then in one’s ancestral or karmic past. Maybe it was strictly physical or emotional abuse that had one grow up feeling like it isn’t safe to trust. Perhaps, feelings of insecurity alternatively stem from encountering death at an early age. Coming to terms with death/dying could also be a major assignment.

One both craves and fears intimacy. Maybe growing up a lot of shame was projected upon one’s body or sexual identity, and to protect oneself, one came to avoid intimate relationships. At the other extreme (Saturn loves extremes) one might try to lose oneself in an ongoing merry-go-round of meaningless encounters. One may substitute sex for intimacy, or use it as a means to gain power over others. Perhaps one acts excessively ‘sexy’ to gloss over the fundamental problem of relating emotionally to another person. One’s emphasis on sexual freedom may be a reaction to too much restriction in the past. Both are extremes permeated by fear. Saturn in Scorpio or the 8th house carries deeper emotional scars than any other Saturn placement, and the wounds are slower to heal. Developing intimate relationships step by step, create a foundation of trust that transforms past hurts. One is here to learn, practice and teach the power of conscious sexuality. Study the Tantric Arts to explore the healing and transformational potential of sex. When sexual relationships come from the heart, and are in line with one’s values and integrity, one creates the healthy, passionate sex life one deserves. In truth, expressing emotional vulnerability helps generate more power, for oneself and others. Once thoughts and feelings are honestly expressed, others are inspired to share their inner world, creating lasting connections. Find one place in your life where you feel completely safe and encouraged to share your inner world, af?rming: It is safe to reveal my inner truth.

As the second and fixed sign of the water triad, Scorpio denotes a point of crisis wherein the individual must integrate into the group, catalyzing an expansion of consciousness and the birth of the transpersonal actualized in the following sign of Sagittarius. Scorpio rebirths instincts as purified desire. Also known as the sign of ‘other people’s money,’ with Saturn here one must interrogate money as a complex symbol of emotional values. Here money becomes an indicator of dependence or freedom, culturally-derived to buy liberation or bondage in marriage. With Saturn in Scorpio there exists the enactment of a struggle which appears purely material but is emotional in origin. Maybe one chronically experiences financial extortion in partnership, failing to recognize the revenge taken by the partner is a response to one’s own patterns of avoidance. Has one taken on financial obligations concurrent with the amount of frustration unconsciously inflicted on one’s better half? One may overcompensate by becoming the cultivated lover, all the while unconsciously blocking the natural flow of energy and emotion during intercourse. Often the difficulty lies in a fear of submission, violation and vulnerability inherent to the exchange of sexual energy. Mars-ruled Scorpio is the battleground, the primary purpose of which is self-understanding and self-mastery through constant crises. And there is simply no greater stimulus to crisis than the energies which are released through the seemingly physical act of sex, ‘the little death’ or orgasm and its proverbial wake of emotional storms. Binding and altering for both souls involved, contrary to popular belief, there is no such thing as casual sex. Ancients called it the great creative force of ‘serpent power,’ the ouroboros of alchemy. Ultimately Saturn’s gift is cultivation of trust in one’s self. The potential for deep occult knowledge and mastery of the unconscious offered by this placement could make of one a magician wielding life-giving healing powers.

Saturn in Sagittarius *Mouthpiece of the New World Order*

Celebrity Doppelgänger: Lady Gaga

Saturn loves rules, Sagittarius loves freedom. In constant pursuit of ways to build up your inner vault of knowledge, one streamlines energy toward learning and mastering one’s passions. Fearless, determined and intellectual, one seeks answers! Principled and grounded – one strives to live by a bold code of ethics at all times. Studies are philosophical in nature, just remember to leave the library once in a while! Better yet, stop and smell the roses. Bringing a sense of optimism and forward-thinking to troubled times, in this lifetime you are learning to balance success with freedom. When positively expressed, this combo is like a light unto a whole generation of disillusioned seekers – these natives remind us to smile, dance, breathe, elevate and laugh, apocalypse notwithstanding! One may reject authority as one finds and establishes one’s own system of beliefs. Nothing and no one can stunt one’s ever broadening horizons. Education is priceless, but so is human connection. Loves to share knowledge, gravitating towards careers in education, personal coaching or spiritual leadership. One may have to learn the hard way that with knowledge comes responsibility. Connected with the understanding and development of intuitive perception and wisdom, Saturn in Sag is on the path of individuation and initiation. Ultimately, one will tolerate no one else’s authority on the matter. Initially Saturn, in light of its ‘trickster’ attributes, follows the usual path of constriction, overcompensation, disillusionment and pain throughout one’s search for inner realization.

One may undergo a complete loss of faith, seeking an entirely new framework of spiritual and moral value. One may alternatively come to be a person who believes in nothing, dabbling in agnosticism or atheism based in fear and rebellion. Maybe one’s culture of origin involved much religious dogma and a subsequent disillusionment. A traditionally Saturnian orientation in religious matters emphasizes law, structure, guilt, punishment and the unknowable will of God with little emphasis on life, quality, inner meaning or personal growth. Was one’s childhood steeped in morality and belief as a volcanic source of guilt? Caution around a tendency toward depression and lack of hope. Relationship with authority is troubled, as someone else’s interpretation of life and justice won’t suffice. One ultimately finds that beneath all the pomp and circumstance of organized religion stands the inner urge toward a direct spiritual experience. In mutable, transpersonal fire, Saturn harbors the potential for direct intuitive perception of the wholeness and meaning of metaphysical reality. Driven toward a peak experience of what we call God. Becoming one’s own priestess, prophet, missionary and savior – intuitive perception in the world of meaning guarantees one a much more direct and meaningful inner authority which solidifies spiritual security. Ethics are relative. With Saturn in Sagittarius, one’s responsibility lies in acting in a manner which serves human evolution. Luckily, at the end of the road lies an expressive freedom and joy unknown to the previous eight zodiac signs.

Saturn Rx: ASHWAGANDA

Adaptable to say the least, Saturn in Sag enjoys traveling and exploring. With a name that translates to ‘strength of a horse,’ there is no better supplement for Saturn in Sagittarius, sign of the horse and archer/centaur. Ashwagandha will give you just that, helping the body maintain homeostasis as you navigate environmental stressors. Part of a group of herbs and mushrooms called adaptogens designed by nature to help the body ‘adapt,’ Ashwagandha also goes by winter cherry. Having been used in Ayurvedic medicine since 6000 B.C., the ancient superfood boasts a global market size of more than $42 million today. Saturn in Capricorn *Holding the Weight of the World*

Celebrity Doppelgänger: Diana, Princess of Wales

Time being the greatest teacher of all, Saturn-ruled Capricorn tends to do much better with age. Initially, Saturn imposes many struggles and hardships leading to significant karmic lessons concerning responsibility, ambition and authority. One may have been born with many unconscious hardships imprinted in the mind, leading one down the path of austerity, duress, isolation and inhibition. Maybe this aspect manifested as a strained relationship with the Father or another authority figure early on. Maybe it’s not until the Saturn Return that one discovers their true calling. Goal-oriented and self-disciplined, one tends to have a clear and direct life mission. Success, status and accomplishment are important to you. Saturn in Capricorn seeks to create structures which endure over time, bringing potential gains for family members. Coming to terms with the Mother and/or a reevaluation of the male/female roles offers potential for pivotal personal growth.

Saturn in Capricorn brings limitations, delays and difficulties in the achievement of one’s goals as well as intense ambition and a determination to succeed at any cost. This is the interpretation generally given to Saturn in its own sign, and it is generally true, but what lies beyond popular understanding? The kind of ambition concurrent with Saturn in Capricorn can stem from an unhealthy need to prove one’s achievement to others, particularly as overcompensation for an emotionally impoverished childhood. Often, those members of society who have achieved real prominence suffered some form of family rejection, as expressed through the Cancer-Capricorn work/family polarity. If psychic energy is denied an outlet in its chosen direction, it will return with doubled force in another, compensatory direction. Desire for recognition drives this native until one has achieved some degree of notice or responsibility. The more esoteric interpretation, or ‘higher ground’ suggests that these individuals have a strong need to create societal change in response to a collective need or soul purpose.

Comfortable playing the long game, make sure to celebrate wins along the way. Ease up on self-criticism when things don’t go as expected. Blessed with endless stamina and discipline, one is responsible to a fault. A survivor who continues moving forward regardless of circumstances, make sure you are not neglecting your feeling nature or failing to enjoy life. Embodying humility and balancing the personal/professional are important themes. When left to one’s own devices, one could easily become overly fearful, depressed, strict, rigid, authoritarian, conservative, vexed, emotionally void or workaholic. A highly self-conscious placement, one could fear public humiliation. aspiring to a shallow definition of success. Saturn’s sacred task in Capricorn becomes to redefine achievement from the vantage point of inner, rather than outer values. Unless one’s methods of achieving success can be shared with others in a juicy and meaningful way, the climb up the mountain is meaningless, and the rewards of the summit illusory.

Saturn in Aquarius *Disrupting the Social Hierarchy*

Celebrity Doppelgänger: Kate Upton

Saturn is dignified in Aquarius, lending a faculty of detachment and dissociation from the ordinary vehicles of life. With seriousness, concentration and stability considered fitting mental attributes, Saturn in Aquarius births the ‘scientific mind’ including its dangerous tendency toward narrowness and prejudice which is at present fashionable to the global technocracy. Uranian energies accessible to the Aquarian give him equal potential to achieve the pinnacle of scientific discovery, or sail to the ether regions of lunacy. Masterful at grounding hopes and dreams into tangible reality, one is clever and curious. Taking an innovative approach to matters of career focused on technology and disrupting the status quo of social hierarchy – at work one prioritizes serving humanity with a focus on equality, skirting binaries and wealth redistribution.  Espousing big, revolutionary, idealistic views of how society can be improved – one has razor sharp intuition and an uncanny ability to uncover hidden info. A logical mind drives one to do great work – just make sure not to overthink!

Given the Aquarian connotation of friendships and social acceptance, ideally one forms networks easily. With Saturn here however, one may prefer to display aloofness than fit into the group. With an inability to conform to popular codes of behavior, one must establish group belonging bound by a higher purpose. Saturn being hopelessly inept at social graces, one is first and foremost the enemy of superficiality. One may draw back from friendships for fear of being not accepted. Ultimately, it becomes far more painful to carry the sense of separateness into a crowd than to be physically alone yet experience a sense of belonging. Don’t become the social butterfly with wings of lead, one whom remains essentially isolated and apart, while inwardly seeking meaningful sharing. Bristly defensiveness attracts the same back. With Saturn in Aquarius, everything may be seen in the shop window but nothing is to be found in the shop. Related to experiences of mental isolation, one may struggle with loneliness. Inept at superficial relating which is often the parlance of airy types, one may settle for lone-wolf status – becoming a follower rather than the leader one essentially needs to be. Develop a purpose which permits one participation in a larger field of socio-cultural expression, or perish as a lost and lonely creature indeed.

The opportunity offered by Saturn is only accessible when one takes a broad view of human oneness and gradual evolution native to the truly progressive mind. Keep going until one has sought long and deeply enough for the inner circle which means the world to you. With time, many others will come to naturally lean on you, particularly those in need of your authority, wisdom and unconditional support. Avoid draining your batteries to the point that one must push people away. Practice balancing supporting others with healthy doses of supporting and loving yourself. Tending to your relationships with mindfulness, crystalline intuition and enlightened detachment creates an even stronger foundation that both you and your tribe can depend on.

Saturn In Pisces *Contemplative & Purposeful*

Celebrity Doppelgänger: The 14th Dalai Lama

Spirituality grounded by sullen humor, fantasies flowing seamlessly with reality. A rockstar EMPATH, one may take on joys or pains of others as they interplay with one’s own, but practical idealism allows one to come out the other side with actionable ways to share healing and inner wisdom. A romantic at heart, one is extremely sensitive. While always willing to help friends and loved ones, one often feels unsupported. One may suspect that others innocence or compassion is insincere. Craving solitude and contemplation, this placement brings a focus on material, psychological and emotional debts, healing trauma, developing trust for others and sharing resources. Always roots for the underdog, but shuts down quickly when faced with pity. Surrender all things that are truly out of one’s control to find peace within the unknown.

The planet of boundaries and structure enters sensitive, tender hearted mutable water.  Until the path of service is pursued, this placement proves extremely perilous. One may fear the abyss, overcompensating for perceived impotence by attempting to prove one is omnipotent master of fate, failing to understanding the inner motives which have brought one to thy knees. Loss of will is the price of Pisces when real inner serenity is gained in exchange. With a profound capacity for trust and fantasy, one could easily fall prey to a charismatic narcissist or personality cult gone awry. Awakening the soul does not come easily, but one is blessed with an intuitive awareness of the work that is needed of true seekers. Redefining spiritual practices and creative endeavors, a deep love of ritual evolves with time. One may learn through one’s own helplessness how ultimately impotent the personal will is against karmic forces. One may isolate in attempt to shield oneself from contact with others at the same time feel oppressed by loneliness. No matter how many people one surrounds oneself with, unbearable loneliness prevails. Physical illness or withdrawal from conscious awareness through drugs, alcohol or insanity is an escape route sidestepping the deeper work.

In the culminating sign of the zodiac, Saturn offers an opportunity to take wisdom acquired by experience and offer it up in service for group development. This entails one final ‘mystical marriage’ most difficult for the average man (centered in his individuality) for which no struggle is required, only surrender and devotion. Symbolizing the dissipating forces which eventually break down one’s sense of separateness and release one into group life, Pisces lays the ego and everything else on the altar of sacrifice to become a functioning part of the collective. Eventually, the scaffolding must come down, the inner structure is nearly complete! If one has built their conception of reality on a purely mundane base, one will surely feel the ground pulled out from beneath them. Saturn here calls for a recognition of the evolutionary urge and the spiritual side of life as a primary psychological drive. Remove the last veil blocking liberation? The gold available to a person with Saturn in Pisces is the power to serve, not to be confused with ‘doing good.’ Rather, Saturn fortifies and affirms the sense of responsibility and detached love which accompanies the feeling of cosmic unity sought.

Saturn Rx: Super Immune Bundle

Openness, compassion and intuition soften the Lord of Karma’s signature rigidity, making Saturn’s walls more elastic and permeable. Just don’t let them disintegrate altogether. Being the most boundariless of signs, Pisces is often correlated with transmissible diseases and a weakened if not delicate immune system. This isn’t a life sentence, but merely a cautionary note, as if one learns anything from Saturn, let it be that one’s vitality rests in thine own magical hands. Introducing the Super Immune 3 Bottle Bundle.  Formulated with premium elderberry, vitamins D/C and zinc, the 6-in-1 Super Immune 3 Bottle Bundle ramps up your body’s natural immune response so your cells can better protect your body from harmful invaders. Brought to you by Stay Well Global, the company on a mission to democratize preventative care. Disrupting the wellness industry status quo – this super fueled supplement is brought to you direct from the first generation of ‘Plastic People.’ One of the few wellness brands actively combating cancer, autoimmune, allergies, anxiety and depression on the rise due to frequency of microplastics in nearly all of our food and drug packaging –  Stay Well uses only the best ingredients, backed by research, made in the U.S. and packaged in elegant, refillable glass bottles. Absolutely no single-use plastic! Their refillable packaging is also biodegradable and compostable. Bound by a shared journey through battles with illness, and their determination to help loved ones who have suffered cancer, stress and anxiety – the trio of female founders making up Stay Well Global are committed to investigating each and every aspect of the products they bring to market, helping you stay well!
