Haumea (pronounced How-May-Uh) is Hawaii’s most ancient deity, a primordial Mother Goddess to the island, its gods and volcanos. Intricately linked to fertility, creativity, transformation, seasonal tidal rhythms, and the cyclical nature of existence itself – dwarf planet Haumea’s fairly recent discovery in 2004 has influenced a resurgence of Indigenous wisdom. A Goddess of spiritual ecology and renewal, Haumea is Hawaii’s multi-faceted fertility Goddess associated with wild plants, forests, natural childbirth and trial-by-fire. Symbolic of human and family evolution, Haumea births new spiritual awareness – and is a warning to all humans who have attempted to use science to control nature. As Hawaiian culture evolved in close partnership with the land, it is difficult for Westerners to fully understand Haumea, a shapeshifter who takes myriad forms, including as a shark, spirit, and woman. Like many indigenous traditions, Hawaiians have no name for ‘nature,’ no clear dividing line where culture ends and nature begins.
Haumea’s emergence into collective consciousness coincides with the discovery of the outer-lying celestial bodies defined as asteroids and dwarf planets. An emerging realm of astromythology, most of the distant Kuiper Belt’s icy planetoids have been named after indigenous deities in an effort to expand the archetypal dimensions of Western astrology and human consciousness as we know it. New planets are discovered when we are ready to receive their messages. Discovery of the outer planets unleashes a form of super-consciousness. As science realigns with the spiritual, Haumea reveals a much-needed counter-point to our modern-day emphasis on consumption and control. Haumea’s promise is that one day, we will not rape the feminine Earth in the name of profit and call it ‘progress.’
An icy, gleaming object of the Kuiper Belt, Haumea spins in perpetual motion, completing a full circle in under 4 hours. It’s no coincidence how Kuiper Belt Object (KBO) discoveries have occurred in tandem with recent advancements in quantum physics demonstrating there is no such thing as solid matter. Rather, everything is vibrating and in motion. Not only do trans-neptunian objects (TNOs) like Haumea activate the higher octave of Neptune, they represent a ‘quantum leap’ for human consciousness. Just as Hawaii’s volcanic islands emerged out of the sea from the fire at the center of the Earth, indigenous people have always known that our physical bodies emerged from Spirit, a principle reflected in many a creation myth. Haumea’s association with the element of fire, suggesting dynamic life force or Spirit, only further emphasizes her role as holiest of holies, with the potential to influence a deep rebirth amidst our planet’s ongoing ecological crisis. With unquestioning faith in the breath of life, Hawaiians have long revered Haumea as a midwife sacred evolution, the boundless realm of creativity, and the continuous cycles of transformation which enmesh human beings in the great mystery.
In The Astrology of Haumea: Neptune’s Higher Octave, Alan Clay and Melissa Billington outline the significance of Haumea’s progression through the zodiac, which I draw from heavily in the astro-insights to follow. In last month’s BEAUTYSCOPE on the Venus Star Point, I discussed how Neptune is the Higher Octave of Venus (planet of love and relationship), providing a veritable antidote to the often self-indulgent vanities associated with the Goddess of Love & Beauty. What is a higher octave and why is it important? If Neptune and the outer planets are ‘transpersonal,’ then Haumea is transglobal, transcultural and some would even say transhuman. As the higher octave of Neptune, hence the title ‘trans-neptunian,’ Haumea’s age-old wisdom anchors psychic unity and ecofeminism into our day-to-day existence. “In today’s world where many of us are seeking a sense of belonging, of connection to land or place, Haumea also talks about migration and a new home,” writes Clay. In gravitational orbit with Neptune, dwarf planet Haumea elevates Neptune’s nebulous psychic opening into a more subtle and progressive psychic experience of collective reckoning. Perhaps even more importantly, Haumea reminds us that spirituality is an embodied experience.
Oddly enough, when Haumea was initially discovered as the third TNO, American astronomer Mike Brown gave her the nickname Santa, having made detailed observations of her frosty surface and the presence of a dark red spot presumably resembling Santa’s hat! Before officially announcing his discovery to the world, Brown abruptly took paternity leave as his wife gave birth to their daughter. Around that same time, a team of Spanish astronomers headed by Jose-Luis Ortiz also claimed the discovery of Haumea, giving her a name of Celtic origin. Naming her ‘Ataecina,’ which means ‘rebirth,’ its a moniker synonymous with Greek mythology’s maiden Persephone and her crone counterpart Hekate. It’s intriguing that just as two groups of male scientists sought to discover, claim and name Haumea – her chaotic and continual process of excavation and expulsion of new life make her virtually nameless, formless, and timeless… Nonetheless, in learning and reformulating her mythic stories, we resacralize creative-sexual energy, qualified as feminine, and its principle role as an embodiment of the seasonal cycles of life; including its shadow feminine qualities as the chthonic, emotion-oriented process we access through mental health work and resolve by living in right relationship with nature.
Ultimately, the dwarf planet was given her final name Haumea, after the Hawaiian Goddess of Fertility & Childbirth, in light of her two moons and solid surface closely resembling the rocks formed as molten lava cools. In line with her creation myth, a violent, high-speed collision at birth caused Haumea to split her body into two other masses which would come to be known as her moons Hi?iaka and Namaka. In myth, Hi’iaka sprang from Haumea’s mouth and Namaka from her breasts. Reflecting aspects of feminine essence, as storyteller of the land and sea, Hi’iaka moves with the rhythms of Earth. Namaka moves with the ocean tides and currents, guiding sea creatures and sea-faring people, drowning and solidifying volcanic lava in her bosom of steam.
Haumea’s original collision having scattered chunks of ice which assimilated into her orbital track, present day images of the dwarf planet show her as a smooth, oblong cosmic body and one of the rare, non-spherical planets. In addition to her two moons, Haumea has eight confirmed ‘family members’ which emerged from her body ala graze-and-merge impact. Classified as the only known ‘family’ of the Kuiper Belt, these offshoots of Haumea’s celestial body share a water-ice spectral feature distinguishing them from other KBOs. Remarkable when we consider that Hawaii has eight main islands – all volcanoes running along a fault line, some liable to erupt at any moment! In line with Haumea’s very much cyclical life force, lava spews, then cools and merges with the land mass. In her Fire goddess form Haumea is called Pele, or Muliwai a Pele, for the Rivers of Lava that run along the Earth, reshaping it again and again. For ancient Hawaiians, from the witnessing of volcanic lava emerged a profound metaphor of creation. Equating fire with Spirit, they came to believe that the Earth was born of Fire, the material form of a spiritual force, each island having risen up from the fiery navel at the core of the Earth. Pele’s creative/destructive duality also highlights Haumea’s underworld dimensions and shadow personas. Likewise, “Haumea’s regenerative effect in our lives can sometimes feel existential and hard to handle,” writes Clay.
Astrologer Natasha Lyn Carruth writes that Haumea’s perpetual emergence through hardening magma is a cycle that does not only signal fertility, but is part of a larger creation process involving death. Haumea gives birth to every being— mineral, flora, fauna, humans, animals. Symbolizing the process of gestation-eminence-emergence, she highlights the mother’s necessity of self-willed magical sacrifice. In myth, Haumea morphs into a tree in which her husband, Wakea (space) may safely hide – just as the child gestates deep within his mother’s womb. Granted, with each new birth, Haumea reserves fallow time to renew herself. While in America corporate agribusiness has eliminated the land’s necessary fallow period – unwittingly undermining the sustainability of its yield long-term – Haumea’s myths teach about the importance of post-partum experience, a much less glamorous and certainly less acknowledged part of the creative process.
Much like her next-in-orbit recently reclassified ‘dwarf planet’ Pluto, Haumea deals with both principles of growth and decay, albeit taking a more eco-feminist approach. With similar evolutionary energies and exorbitantly long orbits close to 300 years, Haumea and Pluto are said to chase each other in cyclical orbit, coming close but never quite touching. Resembling a magnetic pair of lovers in the dance of attraction-repulsion, life-wielding when not death-dealing, Haumea rebirths and Pluto regenerates. If Mike Brown’s claiming of Haumea being interrupted by the birth of his daughter isn’t ironic enough, the Spanish team’s chosen name shares symbolic parallels with Haumea’s life-death-rebirth continuum – evidenced in Persephone’s abduction by Pluto, Lord of the Underworld (signifying Winter/Death) and return to the realm of the living (signifying Spring/Rebirth).
Before we get into the astrology of Haumea, let’s look more closely at her vast ecosystem of myths and stories. Within the Hawaiian peoples’ intricate pantheon of deities we find those associated with Earth and Sky, household and underworld; those occupying the terrain of spirits and ancestors as well as those who hold the status of holy mischief makers. As progenitor of Hawaiian peoples, Haumea’s myths often involve creative intervention into the mundane life of her people. Warding off famine, war and social ills, Haumea is known to give birth to saviors and leaders. Many of her stories simply revolve around food as love, marriage and birth. Suggestive of human and family evolution, Haumea rebirths herself endlessly, reappearing as her own daughter and then granddaughter; each time marrying her son-in-law and grand-son-in-law. It is no wonder that they named an egg-shaped planet after her.
Hawaiian peoples did not record their history in books but rather in chants. The most important of these is the ‘Creation Chant,’ which has many local variations throughout the eight main islands. In common parlance, this chant describes the region’s evolution from slime and minuscule creatures to larger marine life and mammals. A translation of this chant by the last Hawaiian Queen in 1987 highlights how analogies of her people’s ancient vocal scriptures dovetail with modern science, particularly given how Hawaiians were natural astronomers who laced their chants with affectionate terms for the heavens, stars, terrestrial science and local gods. Underlying the Creation Chant about the birth of humankind from the primordial soup lies the Hawaiian people’s belief that from Mother Nature emerges everything, and likewise, spirit exists in all things.
Possessing a magic stick from the Makalei tree, Haumea is able to conjure up a never-failing supply of sustenance in the form of fish. In one myth we hear about how even when mass-produced agriculture fails, Haumea’s priestesses knew how to work with the land to ensure abundant harvest, linking her fertility association both to land and clan. Impulsed by the sheer joy of procreativity, Haumea surrenders to the agency and ecstasy of the heart. In another myth we are told that Haumea’s husband Wakea becomes false to her when out of jealousy, he attempts to re-order the natural rhythms she had established; moving the Moon’s days around and using taboo to stop her crossing her threshold. A metaphor for how humans try to control nature, in this story, Haumea and her ancient wisdom of sacred ecology triumphs over male toxicity. With endless myths highlighting her strength and independence, as a self-generating Goddess Haumea will never be the possession of men, just as the male scientists who attempted to claim and give her foreign names ultimately failed.
Speaking to her association with childbirth and fire, Hawaiians believe Goddess Haumea has the power to instill painless childbirth and even prevent C-sections by way of chants, incantations and herbal medicine. In an age when pregnant mothers submit wholeheartedly to the violent profitization of birth by the corporate medical industrial complex – choosing efficiency and statistics over presence and prayer, choosing anesthesia over ecstasy – Haumea’s rise in popular importance couldn’t be more timely. In fact, Haumea’s discovery coincides with an increasing amount of cesarian births worldwide. As a midwife of nature, Haumea is known for producing babies from various parts of her body, suggesting the promise of pain-free, natural childbirth. In myth, she helps women birth vaginally. In a visual narrative closely mimicking the creation process of the Pacific’s volcanic islands themselves, blessed with ‘Eternal Youth,’ Haumea repeatedly transmorphs into maiden-mother-crone and back again, a double-edged sword of creativity and destruction, fertility and regeneration. Continually growing old and being reborn, Hawaiian myths describe Haumea as simply doing and being all that their island terrain does.
In her fire embodiment Haumea is known as the ‘Goddess of underground heat,’ an allusion to the lava inside the Earth which spills forth from volcanoes as well as the uterus which raises in temperature as it nurtures and sustains life. As Pele, Goddess of Volcanos, Haumea has the power to burn and disintegrate the whole world; and is in constant combat with her sister, the ocean. For Hawaiians, Haumea’s expulsions as fire goddess in the form of lava have never been perceived as a random natural phenomenon, but a divine force with clear intentions— be it curative and purifying, or destructive and vengeful. Astrologer Maurice Fernandez outlines how Haumea looms prominent in the charts of important events associated with Hawaii, particularly periods of volcanic activity. Hawaii became the 50th state of America in 1959 with the Sun conjunct Haumea. In September of 2014, as headlines covering a slow and persistent flow of lava swallowing nearly everything in its path stirred panic, Haumea was conjunct the Dragon’s Head of soul evolution.
In line with the Polynesian mythical conception of a dark formless world of spirit animated as feminine, our rebirth into Haumea’s awareness necessitates that we treat the whole world as not only interconnected, but made visible in dramatic cycles of creation. Breaking away from the general cultural disavowal of Mother Nature, Haumea stands for and defends the rights of women and indigenous peoples which have been denied under white male patriarchy. Several astrologers have noted the synchronicity between the discovery of Haumea and the first Black American President, who also happens to have been born in Hawaii. Like dwarf planet Makemake, named after the Rapanui fertility god, Haumea represents and advocates for all ethnic and minority groups, calling for both land rights and cultural sovereignty.
Taking 283 years to orbit the Sun, Haumea has a generational influence felt most deeply when making aspects in transit. In light of how long Haumea lingers in each sign, in this BEAUTYSCOPE we’ll be looking at Haumea through the houses. But before we get into that, let’s look more closely at her collective influence in recent years. While her path around the sun is long, her relatively quick orbit means Haumea’s transits can bring about rapid changes and short bursts of energy. Those born after 1927 and before 1960 have Haumea in Leo, possessing a generative capacity off the charts! Leading with creative self-expression launched ferociously outward, Haumea in Leo takes center stage via pioneering ideas and artful collaborations. Nigerian-British singer Sade, who ruled the 1980s with her velvety vocals and rhythms inspired by soul, jazz, funk and Afro-Cuban styles – has natal Haumea in Leo. Diddo for FKA Twigs, the millennial generation’s light-skinned Black British pop darling. With this placement, natives came into this life with a desire to exhibit for others what it means to retain a connection to the instinctive wild, to nature’s limitless joie de vivre!
Feminist porn star turned pioneering eco-sexual Annie Sprinkle also comes to mind, another iconic Haumea in Leo native. Best known for her 1990 Public Cervix Announcement, these days Sprinkle is making waves taking folks on eco-sexy nature walks marveling at the genitals of flowers when not staging large-scale weddings to the Earth, Moon, Sun and Sea. For Sprinkle, the premise of eco-sexuality is that you “See nature as your lover and not as your mother. You might give your mother a hard time and she’ll put up with it, but with a lover it’s a question of give and take and, eco-sexuals believe, that’s just what the planet needs right now.” Along with her partner Beth Stephens, Sprinkle organizes creative forums gathering hundreds of scientists, artists, sex commentators and self-proclaimed eco-sexuals from around the world to engage in debate at the intersection of sex and ecology. Overall, Haumea in Leo natives demonstrate how one of the safest ways to access Haumea’s deep spiritual knowing is through play.
Those born approximately 1960-1993 have Haumea in Virgo, bringing out the Earth Goddess side (as opposed to her fire form). During this period creativity and renewal become integral to daily life, impacting the personal well-being and professional spheres of the masses. In Virgo, Haumea’s wholesome, earthy libido is best channeled into work, environmental protections and creative projects. Brook Mahealani Lee (first Hawaiian, indigenous Miss Universe) has natal Haumea in Virgo. Interesting that this period also coincides with a rise in asexual identifications and a drop in fertility and pregnancy rates. In the sign of the virgin, we know that one of Virgo’s shadows can manifest as a type of sterility or frigidity at the sexual level. According to the Wall Street Journal, the global fertility rate is soon estimated to drop below the point needed to keep the population constant. The article names economic fallout, modern lifestyles and the world’s superpowers as the leading culprits in the falling birthrates, what Jesús Fernández-Villaverde is calling “the demographic winter.” Occurring for women across all levels of income, education and labor-force participation – falling birthrates, also called the ‘baby bust’ come with huge implications, having become a matter of national urgency in the U.S., China and Russia. According to another shocking stat from the New York Post, sperm counts worldwide have plunged 62% in under 50 years.
As Haumea moved into Libra around 1992, she sprinkled her life giving magic into relational matters. Sometimes typecast as the sign of steamrolled boundaries, or put more honorably, the path of least resistance; Haumea in Libra brings pressure to create peace, fairness and space to breathe. It’s no coincidence that during this period “I can’t breathe” (a chilling phrase referencing the deaths of Eric Garner and George Floyd by police brutality) became a mobilizing slogan of Black Lives Matters protests around the world. Balancing creative pursuits with collaboration, Haumea in Libra seeks to realign the balance in relationship between people, nations and ecosystems. In the words of global restoration activist Raffi Cavoukian, this period coincides with an urgency to create “A culture in which ‘the good life’ speaks not to purchasing power but to the quality of our existence – our relationships with one another, between cultures, and with nature.” Accessing psychic strength to challenge existing ideas with elegant diplomacy, Haumea’s transit in Libra called our attention to implementing right relationship with all our relations.
As Haumea hopped off the Libran see-saw and waded into the regenerative waters of Scorpio where she will stay for the next 27 years, Cardi B gave birth to her third child with estranged ex Offset. A baby girl rumored to have been named ‘Blossom’ or ‘Bloom,’ her secret floral title feels appropriately suited to a child born with Haumea in Scorpio. With the Goddess in her decay phase of the growth cycle, Haumea in Scorpio fortifies boundaries and clear rules of engagement with the feminine and the Earth. Remaining ever vigilant in her release of human entanglements like competition and triangulation, Haumea in Libra harnessed all the forces of maternal will to keep adversaries neutralized before entering into the sign of death. Ditching her baby father’s drama and infidelities, Cardi B, a Libra Sun, birthed her third child in a period signaling the end of Libran appeasement. With Haumea supercharging Cardi’s Venus in Scorpio, all inclinations to please and appease fell to the sidelines. With the birth of each child the mother undergoes her own rebirth. Like our reigning female MC, Mothers around the world are reclaiming their psychological upper hand when it comes to the value they bring to the world in the form of maternal leadership, empathy and care.
Riding the cyclical wave of birth-death-rebirth in all areas of creative expression, Haumea in Scorpio suggests creation as deep transformation, intense focus on personal power, manifestation and sudden emotional shifts. A sign of REGENERATION, Scorpio is about growth at all costs – our primal need for self-mastery. Collectively, since 2022, we are being called to create space for what is emerging for by letting go of the old. If we resist, we experience this same loss under pressure or through crisis. It’s now more than ever time to cultivate the radical self-love that will pull us up out of the Plutonian underworld into our next level of self-awareness.
With Pluto (sign of detoxification and transformation) entering Aquarius and Haumea entering Scorpio, the matrix is falling and the quantum realm of consciousness is pregnant with potential. In a discussion with Kelley Hunter, astrologer Pam Gregory refers to Haumea’s ingress into Scorpio as an explosive square dance with Pluto. “Pluto is taking down the old systems while the wave of Haumea is coming in over that destruction and bringing in the new,” says mythologist, astrologist and Kuiper Belt specialist Kelley Hunter. Not only is the power shifting into the hands of the people, the people are awakening to a higher truth – demanding human rights, justice and reevaluating our relationship to the Earth and her resources.
By December of 2050, Haumea sashays into Sagittarius (the Archer or Horse Goddess) for another decades long spiritual voyage. The dwarf planets emergence into the collective consciousness during a period of ecological peril is divinely ordained. According to the Whirling Rainbow Prophecy of the Navaho and Hopi nations, their is hope. Derived from tribal seers and dreamers, the Whirling Rainbow prophecy states that a generation of the white children will grow their hair long and speak of love, seeking new ways of understanding themselves and reestablish living in right relationship with the Earth. Considered to be tribal ancestors reincarnated in white bodies, these Rainbow children will learn to walk the sacred path and reform the ways of their parents using the intentions of the Whirling Rainbow for peace and abiding by the Twelve Cycles of Truth: Learning the truth, honoring the truth, accepting the truth, observing the truth, hearing the truth, presenting the truth, loving the truth, serving the truth, living the truth, working the truth, walking the trut, and being grateful for the truth. As a generation that brings peace and restores harmony, the children of the Whirling Rainbow of Peace destroy the lies that have made us mistrust one another and replace the illusion of separation with truth and unity.
In a natal chart, Haumea sheds light on our human experience of all things related to seasonal rhythms – blooming and decay, harvest, procreation, childbirth, sacred marriage, genetic legacy, abundance and vitality. Her keywords are generative capacity, responsive creativity, seminal inspiration, gestating process, self-renewal, fertile and fallow cycles, imagination/ image-in-action. Mirroring myth where she is said to have birthed her moons by collision, she is also connected to sudden disruptions or eruptions. In her lower expression, the dwarf planet can also manifest as experiences of abduction, rape, manipulation, subtraction, coercive power and genetic manipulation. In Lianne McCafferty’s piece Haumea and Pluto: Fanning Evolutionary Flames at a Molecular Level, she pinpoints Haumea’s influence in the clinical 6th house at the dawn of the first test tube baby Louise Brown.
A less obvious shadow tendency of Haumea might look like a kind of creative miscarriage. Perhaps one generates a plethora of ideas, without seeing any of them past the initial phase. Are you giving your creative projects the necessary care and attention to see them to completion? With the intense generative capacity of the Goddess comes a responsibility to choose which seeds to nurture. Gestation and birthing involving an inherent sense of responsibility to nurture the seeds we plant, Haumea helps natives cultivate a holistic awareness attending to the spiritual/mental/emotional dimensions of manifestation and potentiality.
Because while rising infertility rates prove shocking, when it comes to having kids, conception is only the tip of the iceberg! In her book Parenting for Peace: Raising the Next Generation of Peacemakers Marcy Axness, PhD, creates a veritable roadmap for all would-be parents from the standpoint that mindfulness, gratitude and attuned interdependence are the master keys to individual happiness. As a new parent with Haumea in the 4th house of home and family, I found this book to be essential reading. With higher consciousness as a primary organizing principle, Parenting for Peace stresses how “True security is rooted in connectedness, in our relationships, in healthy interdependence with our fellow humans and with our natural environment.” Not only does raising socially healthy human beings require brains wired with a capacity for self-regulation and trust – perceiving and caring for others, what we call ‘empathy’ is the single most effective form of nurturance. In her book sharing simple tools for parents of future peacemakers, Axness reminds us that not only are we our children’s first teachers of language and relationship, we are fundamentally responsible for building their lifelong emotional template, what begins in utero as the key brain centers of a human being synchronize around the beat of the mother’s heart.
Just as ancients understood the basis of today’s most cutting edge physics (the principles of an interconnected universe), it is now time for collective human evolution to honor and implement this knowledge into daily social life. It is time to return to feeling at home in our bodies and at home on the planet Earth. As a Goddess of natural childbirth and holistic fertility – Haumea is a critical guide for the increasing number of couples experiencing infertility, miscarriage or struggling with alternative forms of family planning. As an increasing number of women experience difficulty conceiving, astrologers are analyzing the placement of Haumea at birth to discover and clarify fertility solutions. Haumea in the 6th? Check your gut health. If we’re not eating whole, natural foods, how do we expect our body to perform in ways that nature designed it to? Haumea in the 8th? Trauma work and stress reduction. Haumea in the 12th? It’s a spiritual malady. The more we attempt to live in defiance of nature, the more barriers we create between ourselves and our inheritance as children of the Earth.
As somatic fertility coach Manorah Sangeet Raj informs, the key is not another pill or expensive treatment. Nor is “unexplained infertility” the root of the problem. Rather, Manorah says that when your body is in survival mode it prioritizes feeling safe over reproduction and your body cannot get or stay pregnant. In her latest Fertility Master Class, she works with clients one-on-one in personalized pregnancy loss somatic sessions to help mothers-to-be heal grief, reset the nervous system and reverse infertility. Scroll down to Haumea in the 8th house of sex and death to learn more about Manorah’s incredible work!

Depending on her placement by sign and house, transits to Haumea can highlight periods of intense creative energy, rapid growth, or necessary ‘birthing pains’ which accompany the creative process. While planets conjunct natal Haumea have tremendous influence, aspects like trines or squares are less relevant because the outer bodies function best when treated like fixed stars. If one’s natal Haumea were conjunct Mars, one may be a fiery ecofeminist, earth warrior or corporate whistle-blower. That being said, despite all her positive associations, choosing any planet’s higher expression is always an act of will. Hitler had Haumea conjunct Pluto in Gemini, making him a terrifying maestro of mass communication (Gemini) and genocide (Pluto).
When one’s connection to Source feels lacking, call on Haumea to return to the harmony of natural law, right action and right relationship. As the resent transit of Haumea in Libra taught us, Justice is her realm par excellence, course-correcting ideologies, attitudes and beliefs which undermine our peaceful symbiosis with nature’s regenerative processes. Symbolizing the organic power of life to triumph over adversity, Haumea is like a powerful inner GPS – orienting us to move forward in grace and leave no trace.

In ‘Fertility and the Chakras: A Holistic Approach to Reproductive Health,’ Laura McCan outlines how each chakra plays a unique role in supporting physical, emotional and spiritual health. Menstrual irregularities, pelvic pain, feelings of disembodiment and/or a lack of joy or passion suggests an imbalance of the Sacral Chakra or ‘Center of Creativity/Creation.’ Correlated with the color orange, healing fragrances for this chakra include orange, ylang-ylang or clary sage essential oils. As many holistic fertility specialists confirm, our gut or Solar Plexus is an equally important factor in fertility as the chakra ruling our sex organs themselves. Haumea in the 3rd *Immortal Curiosity*
Celebrity Doppelgänger: Keke Palmer
Haumea in the 3rd house intensifies the influence of communication and spotlights immediate surroundings. Siblings and neighbors likely play a significant role in transformative experiences. With a talent for creative expression in communication, one shares ideas with enthusiasm, striving to understand each and every perspective. Taking a cyclical approach to learning and sharing proves fruitful in the best ways. Expect a renaissance-like renewal at some point in the arena of ideas, thought, communication or media. Cultivate an unshakable inner knowing by leaving no stone unturned! At the personal level this placement can also look like spreading oneself too thin or getting hung up on minutia. If one lets insecurity reign, one might overcompensate by demanding attention, making claims of martyrdom and sacrifice to secure it. As one develops a more refined and spiritual approach, there is a regeneration of thought processes that keeps the mind attuned to the ever-shifting currents of love. With a non-judgmental social filter, find the divinity in each and every encounter.

Strong focus on fertility, family cycles and the desire for a nurturing home environment. However, there is a risk here in being overly dramatic or attention-seeking. Is ego-expression putting your creative motor in overdrive? Haumea in the 6th *Nature’s First Midwife*
Celebrity Doppelgänger: Whitney Houston
Taking a cyclical approach to health, service and work – new projects flourish given your meticulous planning, attention to detail and ability to continually perfect and refine the whole. When disruptions occur, impacting steady routines or work flow, use them as an opportunity to get curious, learn, integrate and grow toward a holier, healthier state-of-being. Caution around becoming overly self-critical in your quest for perfection. The 6th house refers to the method by which one responds to everyday events. With Haumea here, one is asked to allow lucid creativity and a focus on renewal to become integral to daily life. Does one feel entitled to bulldoze others with the urgency of immediate demands? When one’s connection to Source feels stifled, one may experience anxiety disorders or worry excessively. Be mindful not to play the hypochondriac of the family or use attention-seeking to compensate for unmet needs. As one develops greater spiritual understanding, Haumea equips you to find the magic in each moment, jet-fueling psychic attunement and regenerative strength during times of crisis or confusion. Cultivate the courage to see and understand the divinity unfolding in each and every mundane facet of existence. When one truly learns to listen to nature’s whispers, one begins to reach outside the psychic soil of life to access expansive wisdom and root unshakeable inner knowing.
Haumea Rx: Marta the Medium
Haumea in the house of service is tasked with making each moment come alive with spirit. Introducing Marta the Medium – truth-teller, survivor, spiritual teacher and guide for all those on the humble path of transmutation. Ready to call in deep healing, break generational cycles and rise up from the ashes stronger than ever? Much like Haumea, Marta’s work is about much more than connecting with Spirit—it’s a sacred invitation to honor the responsibility of this work and its implications for generations to come. Having mediumship abilities from a young age, it wasn’t until she was at one of the lowest points in her life—going through a divorce from an abusive relationship—that Marta’s gift fully awakened. “It was painful. It was exhausting. But it was clarifying,” explains Marta, who now guides others through a profound Portal of Spiritual Awakening. At the heart of Marta’s mission is her Psychic Mediumship Foundation Course, a transformative journey for those who feel called to develop their intuitive abilities, connect with Spirit and trust their inner knowing. This course is more than just learning about mediumship—it is a spiritual initiation into:
- Energetic protection, grounding, and setting boundaries
- Releasing fear and fully stepping into spiritual trust
- Developing clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience and claircognizance
- Connecting with Spirit Guides, Angels and loved ones
- Using tarot, oracle and intuitive tools for divination
Speaking for the sixth house shadow territory of perfectionism, not only does Marta host the Perfectly Imperfect Spiritual Podcast, she counsels her clients that perfection does not exist! “The key is to stand firm in our own truth, without comparison, and to walk our own unique path. The only goal is to become a better version of ourselves each day, to serve others from a place of alignment and to honor what is true to our soul and heart,” informs Marta.
When we caught up recently, I asked her about how we can learn to give from a place of overflow, rather than depletion. Marta explained how, “True giving must come from abundance, not sacrifice. When we pour from an empty cup, we deplete ourselves, but when we cultivate our own overflow—whether in energy, love or financial abundance—we are able to give freely and sustainably.” Because while the 6th may be the house of service, its foundation begins with honoring myself, my time and my worth. This entails both setting the right prices for our offerings and maintaining strong boundaries—both with people and with the Spirit world. “Ultimately, giving from overflow means recognizing that we are not meant to be martyrs—we are meant to be empowered vessels of love and wisdom. When we take care of ourselves first, when we align with abundance in all forms, and when we honor our own boundaries, we naturally have more to give to the world.” With Haumea in the 6th house of work, details, routine and dailiness – there’s no better piece of advice!
