Spring is in full swing and here are my freshest’s picks to get you looking, feeling, and being beautiful!
Biostrip
Health is made simple and easy with the portable vitamin from Biostrip. This strip formula is my key to staying well on-the-go. There are two various Immune Support and Clean Energy. Immune Support contains vitamins C, D, zinc, and elderberry that aids in gut health, which is needed when I’m on the move. Clean Energy’s holy basil, green coffee, and ginseng formula offers an instant boost whether I’m driving to my bestie’s house or staying up all night while on vacation (without the nasty crash like from traditional caffeine). Biostrip is a small yet mighty vitamin for all life’s adventures.
Untoxicated Skin
Take care of sensitive skin while in the heyday of allergy season with Untoxicated Skin. This allergist developed skincare is made without the common skin irritants that cause eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, rosacea, and acne (all 128 of them). Some of these conditions aren’t caused by external factors, though they can be exacerbated by these irritants, Untoxicated Skin makes sure to leave all the nasties out!
This four product line is affordable, effective, and gentle with Clean Start Facial Cleanser, Blank Slate Micellar Water, Lightweight Hydrate Face & Body Lotion, and Moisture Boost Face & Body Cream. I use the micellar water to remove traces of mascara and sunscreen after a long day. Then, I follow up with the facial cleanser to whisk away any grime and dirt to reveal refreshed skin. I opt for the lightweight lotion for an airy hydration in the AM before my sunscreen. For bedtime or when I feel extra dry, a thick layer of the moisture boost cream is my secret to keeping my skin plump this season. The Untoxicated Skincare line is my go-to brand for allergy season this spring.
Sakuraco box
Spring season marks the start of blooming pink florals all over the world, from NYC to Japan. People flock to see cherry blossoms in their pale pink glory and snap a photo or two. To celebrate the Cherry Blossom season in style, I tested the Season of Sakura box from Sakuraco. Sakura is the word for cherry blossom in Japanese and this box was such a delicious delight.
I watched the perfect spring film, My Neighbor Totoro, while enjoying the pink themed goodies like Strawberry Waffle Cookie, Sakura Mochi, and Sweet Sakura Tea. Sakura Kohakuto, a sugar candy with a jelly center, crunchy exterior, and floral notes was my favorite treat from the box.
Each box comes with an exclusive gift, and this season was a Sakura Sake Glass with a golden floral design. My glass has been converted for a propagation cup for my bamboo shoots! Check out the other Sakuraco reviews in my last month’s write up here.
Nomadic State of Mind
Stepping out into the sunshine with eco-friendly sandals from Nomadic State of Mind. Their 2.1 Denim Camel DB Cork sandals is my go-to shoe for trekking through the park or heading to yoga class. The footbed is made from cork which molds to the foot for ultimate comfort while walking or sitting in a hammock while sipping on a kombucha. Each shoe is made from recycled materials with limited waste (which gets made into rope art), fair labor, and 100% vegan. What makes Nomadic State of Mind ideal for your inner spring hippie, you can wash it and go. So get caught in the rain, dance around in mud puddles, Nomadic State of Mind has your back (and soles).
MASAMI
Spring is about refreshing old routines and my hair care is no expectation. My ends with fairy knots and split ends were in desperate need of a trim and hair care rehaul. Enter MASAMI, the Japanese formulated hair brand that centers on oceanic botanical, Mekabu. This sea kelp is a powerhouse that activates the hair matrix resulting in stronger, shiner, and healthier hair.
MASAMI’s Ultimate Hydrating Haircare System has shifted the health of my hair. Starting with the shampoo and conditioner, this pairing contains the star seaweed along with ingredients like japonica laminar, blueberry extract, aloe, and grapeseed oil. One feature of MASAMI the concentrated and low-foam formula. The duo goes a long way, with a small dollop of shampoo and conditioner to not only cleanse but detangle and nourish tresses. I massage my scalp with the scrub brush, which has a chic bamboo handle and silicone bristles to really into my roots.
After the shower I dry off with the ultra-absorbent hair towel that the brand collaborated to create with Once Again Home, a female founded small business based in Chicago. Three recycled bottles goes into the making of each towel. Once my hair is slightly damp, I run a combination of the Hydrating Styling Cream and Hydrating Serum. This duo defines and moisturizes my curls, leaving them shiny for over a week until the next wash day. Plus my hair smells like light florals which is perfect for spring. MASAMI delivers ultimate hydration to my curls and I’m here for it!
Mela
Hydrating is paramount and Mela is the ‘it’ drink for warm weather. A watermelon beverage that is a powerhouse of electrolytes and antioxidants to replenish lost minerals in the body after sweating. Each can contains 100 calories, is gluten free, and has 172 mg of Vitamin C. I enjoy the juicy-sweet taste of the passion fruit flavor (which goes great in a mocktail with some fresh mint). Mela is perfect for any watermelon lover who is looking to hydrate all season long.
Well People
I’ve been getting back to my beauty roots by focusing on the necessities to get me through the spring season. This time of year I look for a dewy bare face with a touch of refinery.
In my recent beauty rotation is Daygleamer Mineral Sunscreen Serum from Well People. A lightweight mineral sunscreen with SPF 34 offers hydration, protection, and glow in this vegan formula. It contains vitamin C that aids in brightening and aloe vera juice nourishes skin with vitamin A and B. On brown skin the serum applies milky and turns transparent in an instant. I drip onto my skin, tap it in with my fingertips, and am covered from UV rays in under a minute.
For the finishing touches to my look I apply Expressionist Pro Mascara. This vegan and cruelty free mascara that conditions lashes with Vitamin E, Cellulose Plant Fiber, and Sunflower Seed Oil. The formula is on the drier side which creates a natural fluttery effect that stays all day long, even on my oily eyelids. My springtime beauty routine is complete with these Well People staples!
