I had the pleasure of speaking with Ioanna Malla, Head of Sales and Marketing, and Falia Theodoraki, Head of Product Development and Merchandising, to learn more about this innovative line and how it all started.

Ioanna: Thank you for having us! My journey in design and marketing has always been driven by a deep appreciation for storytelling. Specifically, how artistry and craftsmanship can connect people across cultures. At INO Design, I have the privilege of bringing Greek heritage to a global audience, leading our expansion into new markets like the U.S. Through strategic sales and marketing, my focus is not just on introducing our designs but on sharing the rich traditions behind them. It’s incredibly rewarding to see how our pieces resonate with people, blending timeless artistry with modern living.
Falia: For me, design has always been a way to celebrate heritage while embracing innovation. My background in product development and merchandising has allowed me to shape INO’s collections in a way that honors Greek craftsmanship while staying relevant to contemporary trends. Every piece we create tells a story of artistry, sustainability, and intention. Leading our product development team, I ensure that our materials, techniques, and designs stay true to our ethos of quality and authenticity. Expanding into the U.S. has been an exciting challenge, and we’re proud to share our work with a broader audience that values thoughtful, well-crafted design.
How did INO Design begin and what is the significance behind the brand’s name?
INO Design was founded with a vision of bringing the essence of Greek craftsmanship into everyday living. The brand was born from a deep appreciation for artistry, tradition, sustainability and blending contemporary design with heritage techniques to create timeless home and lifestyle pieces. The name INO is inspired by Ino, a mythological Greek figure known for her connection to the sea and her transformative journey into a sea goddess. This transformation symbolizes resilience, renewal, and the power of positive change. INO represents the beauty of new beginnings, empowering those who embrace it. Just as Ino embraced change and resilience, INO Design reflects a commitment to evolution in design of honoring the past while embracing the present. Every piece, from cushion covers to fashion accessories, carries this philosophy, crafted with intention and made to bring a sense of beauty and authenticity to modern life.
You have a wide range of gorgeous products. Where do you get your inspiration from?
Our inspiration comes from a variety of sources. We draw from nature’s beauty, from the elegance of classic designs, to the boldness of modern trends. We’re constantly inspired by the stories behind each piece and the idea of creating something timeless that will be cherished for years. Additionally, we’re always exploring the latest trends in design and art, and we love to blend those influences into our collections to offer something truly unique and special.
How is INO Design different from other brands and how has it evolved since its inception?
INO Design stands out in the design industry due to its unique combination of artistic innovation and practical functionality. The brand has evolved by maintaining a strong focus on sustainable design and creating pieces that are not just aesthetically pleasing but also serve practical purposes in everyday life.

Our journey has been incredible, but not without its challenges. While INO Design has been embraced in Greece, breaking into the US market has been a learning experience. Expansion always comes with unexpected hurdles, and we’ve certainly encountered a few along the way. That said, every challenge has taught us something valuable, and we’re more excited than ever as we head into spring and summer. The response to our craftsmanship and design ethos has been inspiring, and we remain committed to bringing our vision of effortless, artful living to more people around the world.
Can we expect more bags and home décor from you in the future? What’s next?
We are constantly working on new designs and products while also always looking for new artists to work with who are local here in Greece. We have some super exciting products that will be dropping in the US in spring, and we can’t wait for the world to see them!
How do you find your artists to represent INO Design?
We prioritize a careful and thoughtful process for selecting artists who align with our values and creative vision. We seek out individuals whose work resonates with our aesthetic sensibilities and who show potential for growth and innovation in their craft. Our approach involves a mix of attending art shows, following emerging trends within the design community, and building relationships with artists over time. Additionally, we often discover new talent through recommendations from established artists and industry insiders, ensuring that the artists we represent maintain a unique and fresh perspective. It’s all about finding those whose work speaks to us on a deeper level, and who are committed to pushing boundaries while maintaining authenticity in their designs.
