What inspired the original concept behind PackIt’s freezable bag design? 

PackIt was started by a single mom with a brilliantly simple idea—to keep kids’ food cool, fresh, and safe so they could enjoy a healthy lunch, all while making mom’s life easier. 

Tell us about PackIt’s patented EcoFreeze® technology. How is it different from traditional insulated bags? 

PackIt lunch boxes, bags, and coolers feature patented ECOFREEZE® Technology — a built-in freezable gel in the bag’s walls that eliminates the hassle of ice or ice packs. This innovation keeps food and drinks fresh and cool for hours, making it easy to stay healthy on the go. 

Can you speak to PackIt’s perspective on environmental responsibility?

Sustainability is a key priority for many consumers, and at PackIt, it’s central to our product development. Our patented ECOFREEZE® Technology eliminates the need for disposable ice packs, which significantly reduces plastic waste. Additionally, by cutting out traditional ice packs, we help conserve the water and resources that go into their production — making our products a more environmentally responsible choice.

Have unexpected demographics emerged for PackIt?

The company’s breakthrough innovations in lunch bag cooling technology have rapidly expanded into adult lunch, coolers, totes, and commercial formats. All with the same goal of impacting health and well-being through innovative solutions and smart products that streamline routines and encourage eating well on the go. How does customer feedback help drive product innovation?

Are there any new launches you want to highlight?

PackIt has just expanded our range of snack boxes, given the rising demand for convenient on-the-go snacking.  As the brand expands into new verticals and the consumer demand for portable healthy food choices rises, you will see launches in categories such as Baby and Coolers with more multi-use functionality and features.

Any advice for PackIt consumers?

The average lunchbox travels over 180 miles each year between home and school—so it’s important to take good care of your PackIt to keep it performing at its best. 

Just like many everyday essentials, regular cleaning is key. We recommend hand-washing the interior with mild soap and warm water or wiping it down thoroughly with an all-purpose antibacterial wipe. For the exterior, a gentle sponge and spot cleaning will do the trick. 

PackIt bags fold flat for easy storage and can be kept almost anywhere. For ultimate convenience, store yours in the freezer so it’s always ready whenever you need it.
