The owner, Lori Wicker, is a one-of-a-kind artist who creates one-of-a-kind pieces for all types of tastes and all types of occasions.
As a child growing up in a small town near Plattsburgh, New York, she loved drawing and doing anything art-related. As she grew older, she enjoyed making older things look new again or improving them from their original condition. As many TV shows over the years have featured similar types of up-cycling or recreating new things out of the old, this was something that always captured her interest.
Later on, she took painting classes, which led to her passion for acrylic paint-pouring. After taking an early retirement, she discovered countless videos about how to create different techniques with paint-pouring, which led to working with the leftover paint, called paint skins. Instead of wasting the leftover paint from her paint-pouring techniques, she started creating art with them.
Repeatedly creating the same work of art never appealed to her. Instead, she strove to create truly different, unique pieces, which inspired the name of her business.
After going from oil painting, to acrylic pour-painting, to using paint skins, to making different types of jewelry, she began creating magnet sets with acrylic paint skins, then covering an assortment of other things with paint skins. The results are both distinctive and beautiful.
