Act+Acre Has the Ultimate Reset for Dull, Dry Locks

Act+Acre is taking on hard water. The plant-based, sustainable scalp-care brand developed a new system to fight against the effects of hard water. Hard water has a high incidence of mineral content, which can cause dryness and damage to your hair over time. Act+Acre’s Reset + Repair Clarifying System cleanses your scalp and hair, eliminating product buildup, hard mineral residue, and other environmental toxins. Think of the Reset + Repair Clarifying System as a cleaning machine that refreshes your scalp and restores hydration rather than stripping it away.

As a longtime fan of Act+Acre’s Fulvic Acid Volumizing Dry Shampoo and 4% Niacinamide Oily Scalp Serum, I was excited to try their new hard water line. My hair could use a pick-me-up after exposure to the dry winter air, indoor heat, and array of fashionably warm hats I’ve been sporting lately.

Act+Acre’s Reset + Repair Clarifying System includes the Clarifying Hard Water Shampoo, Clarifying Hard Water Treatment, and the Conditioning Hair Mask

Clarifying Hard Water Treatment

I started the process with the Clarifying Hard Water Treatment. The treatment came in a packet in a powder form. I wet my hair thoroughly and worked the powder into a paste before massaging it into my scalp. I left the paste on my scalp for about three minutes, as the packaging directed before rinsing it out. The paste was easy to mix and apply, and left my scalp feeling refreshed after rinsing. My scalp felt clean, but not too dry or sensitive after use.

Clarifying Hard Water Shampoo

I followed up the Clarifying Hard Water Treatment with the Clarifying Hard Water Shampoo. Like Act+Acre’s other shampoos, this shampoo had a gel-like consistency that easily worked into a foam as I massaged it into my scalp. I followed the brand’s instructions by rewetting my hair and working the product through from the nape of my neck upward. I rinsed and followed up with a second cleanse. The double cleanse removed any extra traces of the previous treatment, leaving my scalp feeling lighter. It felt like my congested hair follicles could breathe once more. The clarifying effects are quickly seen and felt. I loved how refreshed my scalp felt.

Conditioning Hair Mask

For the grand finale, I used Act+Acre’s Conditioning Hair Mask. The mask comes in a tube. I squeezed a quarter-sized amount into my hands. The rich, creamy formula worked easily into my hair. I started at the tips of my hair and worked my way upwards, evenly coating my strands. I let the product sit on my hair for about five minutes, although it can be kept on for up to 20 minutes depending on your hydration goals.

After my five-minute timer beeped, I rinsed the hair mask out and gently towel-dried my hair. I could already see and feel a difference in my damp strands. They felt softer and more hydrated. I gently worked a comb through my hair, and there were much fewer knots to be found than usual.

After completing my hair-drying routine, I was impressed with the results of my three-step treatment. My hair was noticeably shiner, softer, and had lush volume. The hydration effects live up to the hype and the products do not weigh down fine strands or cause scalp dryness.

Act+Acre recommends using the Clarifying Hard Water Treatment once per week, while the Clarifying Hard Water Shampoo and the Conditioning Hair Mask are gentle enough for daily use. Whether the water in your area is hard or soft, Act+Acre’s Reset + Repair Clarifying System is a great investment for softer, shinier, healthier locks.
